La macchia e le basse dune dietro Playa de Guadalmar sono da molti anni l'area di cruising all'aperto più conosciuta di Malaga, documentata in ogni guida di cruising importante. L'attività si concentra nei cespugli e nella copertura arborea tra il parcheggio della spiaggia e il tratto naturista sotto il campo da golf, per lo più nei pomeriggi caldi e nelle prime serate estive. Stato: di lunga data e ampiamente conosciuto, anche se non ufficialmente sanzionato. La vicina foce del fiume Guadalhorce è una riserva naturale protetta: rimanere fuori dalle aree recintate del santuario degli uccelli, che sono pattugliate. Note pratiche: il sesso pubblico rimane un reato secondo le norme sull'ordine pubblico spagnole se causa reclamo, quindi la discrezione è attesa e si applica l'etichetta usuale. Porta con te gli oggetti di valore invece di lasciarli sulla sabbia, e tieni presente che l'area si svuota rapidamente dopo il tramonto: la spiaggia non è illuminata. Le strutture più vicine sono il chiringuito stagionale sull'estremità familiare della spiaggia.

Today the water was especially dirty due to sewage from the nearby river. It's a shame, because the beach itself has a great atmosphere, but the town council is neglecting it to the point that it's quite disgusting to go for a swim.

A fantastic beach on the far left near Malaga, perfect for bringing pets. Thank you, Malaga, for having such great beaches, although all municipalities should allocate 10% of their beaches for families with pets.

This beach is a mix of pebbles and sand, so it is not very comfortable to walk on barefoot. There are relatively few pebbles on the western part of the beach, but there are still some in the water. The shallow area is quite limited, and the sea is also rather cold. These things alone would still be manageable, but the biggest drawback is that the beach is sometimes closed for swimming due to E. coli being detected in the water. This seems to be related to the nearby river and wastewater issues, with the risk being particularly high after heavy rain. If you are looking for a summer holiday destination mainly for swimming in the sea, I would recommend choosing another beach.

Guadalmar Beach is a semi-urban beach in the Churriana district of Málaga. It features dark sand and is located on the western coast of the city, between San Julián Beach and Guadalhorce Beach. The beach is spacious and not overcrowded, and includes a nudist area and a dog-friendly zone. It also has ample parking. It's a great option for a day at the beach.

I find it absolutely shameful how disgusting it is, full of filth that flies horribly in the hot sun... Bags thrown everywhere... and the water? The Ganges River is cleaner, a brown stain with suspicious foam... it's outrageous. Yesterday, Sunday, August 17, 2026. Anyway, I got in the car and we went to Fuengirola... where they have showers for dogs and it's clean... I'm never setting foot in Guadalmar again.

⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING NUDISM: If you are not comfortable with nudism or are looking for a clothing-optional beach, this is not the beach for you. Although there is a designated "nudist zone" with a sign, it's important to clarify that, according to the law, the entire beach is suitable for nudism. It's striking (and quite frustrating) to see how clothed people constantly walk around the designated nudist area without respecting the space and privacy of those of us who prefer to be naked; however, if a nudist walks towards the area with more clothing, the typical comment or complaint about "not allowed there" quickly arises. A little consistency, courtesy, and mutual respect would be very welcome. Beach characteristics and conditions: * Sand and sea: The sand is the typical dark and coarse sand of the Malaga area, tending towards gravel at the water's edge, so it's not the softest for walking barefoot. The water is usually clean, although the entrance to the sea has a steep drop-off and gets deep quickly. * Areas and atmosphere: It's divided between the more family-friendly/clothes-only area (near the beach bars and main access points) and the nudist section that extends towards the mouth of the Guadalhorce River. * Crowds: Very busy on summer weekends, but much quieter and more spacious during the week, allowing you to maintain distance without feeling overwhelmed. Useful tips and advice: * 🚗 Parking: There are parking areas near the resort, but they fill up quickly during peak hours. Arrive early or be prepared to circle around a bit. * ✈️ Planes: It's right next to Malaga Airport, so planes fly very low. If you enjoy aviation, it's a fantastic sight; if you're looking for absolute silence, keep that in mind. * * 👟 Footwear: Water shoes or closed flip-flops are ideal for getting in and out of the water without hurting your feet on the pebbles on the shore. * 💨 Wind: Because it's a very open beach, windy days from the east or west are quite noticeable.
