Seaside Grand Hotel Residencia

Hotel and staff were perfect.

Dear Team, I am definitely not the kind of traveler who usually writes hotel reviews. However, this time I'm making an exception, as the Gerlach family's Seaside hotel chain is part of my personal history. After many consecutive years at the Seaside Los Jameos Playa on Lanzarote, where I have many wonderful memories, and where I first stayed in 1996, my husband and I are now spending a relaxing week at your beautiful hotel. It is rightly a "Leading Hotel of the World," and one can only congratulate Mr. Theo Gerlach on his life's work, which now comprises eight hotels. The Residencia is a tropical oasis of tranquility on a tourist island like Gran Canaria. The value for money is excellent, both in terms of the accommodation and the superb food and the friendliness of all the staff. It's the many little things that make this hotel so charming… Whether it's the yellow roses in the room and the blue pool towels, which are consistent colors throughout the entire hotel, or the friendly pool attendant who discreetly brings drinks to the sun loungers. Similarly, the attentive housekeeping staff who never forget to refill the tissues, or the pool attendant who prepares each guest's lounger and parasol and lays out the towels. These are amenities befitting a 5-star hotel, and as we know, they are by no means a given in this category. The resort boasts a beautifully landscaped tropical garden, the centerpiece of which is a heated pool and a romantic restaurant terrace. The rooms are located in individual villas; the Deluxe category and the subsequent categories are particularly lovely. These categories are situated right next to the pool. The restaurant offers a daily breakfast buffet that leaves nothing to be desired. In the evenings, a four-course menu with various choices is offered, and a BBQ is held twice a week. These are the rooms of the highest quality. Anyone looking for peace, sunshine and a pampering program will find the "Residencia" a great place to stay; we would love to come back!

Very classy hotel, beautifully appointed, heated pool, good spa with outdoor heated Thassalo pool, very nice staff. Food is excellent but dinner on the outside terrace is seriously underlit...impossible to see by candlelight what you are eating. Same goes for outside bar terrace, hardly any light. Bedrooms are similarly dimly lit. Dinner food is great, lunch has an excellent choice with many Spanish dishes. BBQ nights are good. This is a quiet refined hotel with mostly senior guests so no real " fun" element. Expect a quiet refined stay

I have enjoyed coming to this hotel for years and now I think it is time to leave a good review. The people are incredibly kind and helpful. I would like to mention names, but it is everyone. The people in the restaurant, housekeeping, room service. Everything is perfect. I hope I can continue to relax in this beautiful hotel for the rest of my life.

Our stay at the Residencia was disappointing. The suite was not up to standard, and the bathroom fixtures were completely outdated. To top it all off, we found cockroaches in the bathroom on our last evening, which was met with a shrug when we mentioned it at checkout. They said that's just how it is, it can happen... The guest relations management team paid no attention; they only addressed and greeted regular guests. On two evenings, the service staff were clearly stressed, which was obvious to us as guests. We would have appreciated the intervention of the restaurant manager. We were also addressed informally and inappropriately by a German server (I'm talking about a Leading Hotel of the World!!!). We were there for nine days and had to provide our room number or names until the very end, even though there were so few rooms. Upon arrival at the master suite, there was a bottle of water and a fruit bowl on the table... we've experienced much better in other hotels. I would have liked to address all of this to the hotel manager personally, had I been able to find him. In short: the hotel is outdated, and the price/performance ratio is completely unacceptable. The very friendly housekeeping staff deserves special mention.

Food and drinks service is terrible.

We've stayed at this hotel many times and I can't recommend it enough. The grounds are always impeccably maintained, the rooms are spotless, the food is fantastic, but the best thing is the service! Always very personal and attentive! It's the best hotel on Gran Canaria.

Small hotel with excellent service and extremely friendly and accommodating staff.

It's clear this establishment is committed to providing a high-level experience for its guests. Special attention is paid to detail, and the quality of its services is a hallmark of its character.

An absolutely dream hotel. Deservedly a member of Leading Hotels of the World. Spacious rooms with balconies. The entire resort is like an oasis. Highly personalized service. Sensational breakfast buffet. Half-board is highly recommended and is offered on some days as a buffet or as a multi-course menu. Fantastic spa area with a thalassotherapy pool. Amazing massages. Highly recommended. Excellent airport shuttle service. We will cherish the memories of our stay. Thank you to the entire team :)
