Residence Hotel

A great, centrally located hotel with welcoming staff. Expensive (you know why). Try it! 26.07.2020

We were only there for a quick snack... and were absolutely thrilled with the fantastic service and the exceptionally good food. And we're just picky tourists from Germany 😉

Booking.com wont publish my review - I had to cancel my whole trip at very short notice due to personal reasons. I contacted the hotel to be advised that there was no refund and they charged me the full price of just under £300 for 1 night. I did expect to be penalised for this due to the short notice but thought a fair compromise could be met. How wrong was I. Despite trying to negotiate I was initally advised to claim off my travel insurance then to speak to my credit card company. My overall experience was very disappointing, Staff were very abrupt and curt and I felt that there was no consideration for my circusmatnce or any willingness to reach any compromise. As someone who travels extensively throughout Europe based on my brief experience of Residence Hotel would I stay here I would have to say absolutely not. Will they care , will they do anything about it I doubt it very much. Hopefully it doesnt happen to anyone else but please take note just incase .

No AC, was mid 80s in May, only a fan, couldn't keep window open d/t street noise.

Good, all things considered.

In the central street, our room was large. Breakfast was great. Irene at the desk was a great help. The beds however were too firm for our hip bursitis
