Kaos GL

Kaos GL is Turkey's pioneering LGBTQ+ organization, founded in Ankara in 1994 and legally registered as an association in 2005 - the first legally recognized LGBT association in the country. Based in the Demirtepe area of Kizilay, it runs a long-standing LGBTI+ news portal and magazine, conducts human-rights research and anti-discrimination advocacy, and organizes the annual International Meeting Against Discrimination. As an advocacy organization and community resource rather than a nightlife venue, it operates from an office; visitors interested in its work, archives or events should make contact in advance rather than treat it as a drop-in social space. It remains a central hub for LGBTQ+ life and activism in the Turkish capital.
