Merchant City is the old trading district east of Glasgow's George Square, and its streets of converted 18th- and 19th-century warehouses hold most of the city's gay bars. The core is a few blocks around Virginia Street, Wilson Street and Glassford Street. The Polo Lounge on Wilson Street and Delmonica's on Virginia Street have been the anchors of the scene since the 1990s. The area is compact and easy to walk. Bars fill up from Thursday to Saturday, and some other queer venues are a short walk away in the city centre. Glasgow Pride events also use the city centre around Merchant City.

Extremely rude guy behind the bar! Clearly was not happy to be there or see anyone else there for that matter! The bar was pretty dead and I can understand why. Not a nice encounter at all

Popped in on a Sunday night and it did not disappoint. Heard the music from outside and was a great atmosphere and vibe and lots of singing from Robert and May Miller. May is such a character. Great night out!
