Blairmains Guest House

We had a lovely stay here! The location was perfect — easy access for commuting to both Glasgow and Edinburgh, and it's right next to the motorway. Surprisingly, it was really peaceful and quiet despite being so close to the road — we didn’t hear any traffic at all. The little communal kitchen was a nice touch, especially since we brought a few fridge items with us. It was great to have a place to store them. The area itself is very scenic with lots of horses around — it made for a really relaxing atmosphere. It was also very affordable (we booked through Booking.com), and the hosts were incredibly gracious. The breakfast included in the price was amazing. Honestly, we wish we could have stayed longer, maybe next time. Highly recommend!

Dog showing all over the UK means my wife and I need cost effective accommodation within 30 mins of potential showgrounds Blairmains is a wonderful, secluded and chillout location for us to unwind the night before a show Breakfast from the hosts is second to none and delish ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rooms are not huge but base camp does not need to be really We've booked time and time again as a really quiet, secluded and chilled place Highley Recommended if you want to switch off completely and relax before a show or not 😁 Enjoy 🙏

I had a wonderful experience at this Blairmains Guest house! The service was outstanding—staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming. One of the highlights of my stay was the complimentary breakfast. It was not only free but also absolutely delicious, with a variety of fresh and tasty options to start the day right. The overall atmosphere was warm and pleasant, making me feel right at home. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for great hospitality and value.

Breakfast is prepared with fresh ingredients, the coffee is hot—no complaints about that. The room is uninviting and dark. The service is terrible. It seems the owners are not interested in developing the hotel business.

We spent the first night of our stay at Blairmains Guest House. Ideally located between Edinburgh and Glasgow, it was the perfect place for us. A warm welcome awaited us. The room was perfect. The breakfast was generous and high-quality; we had the Scottish version, which was delicious. A place to remember!

For the last day of our trip across Scotland, we chose Blairmains Guest House. It's in a fantastic location right on the M8 and not far from Edinburgh. We received a warm welcome and had a pleasant stay and a delicious breakfast.

I recently stayed for two nights while traveling for work, and I was truly impressed. Wayne and Heather made me feel incredibly welcome from the moment I arrived. They went above and beyond, even offering to pick me up from the bus stop as I was traveling by public transport during a storm! My room was spotless, comfortable, and equipped with a TV. There was also a shared lounge available for extra space, which was a nice bonus. The breakfast was customized to my preferences and absolutely delicious. To top it off, the views from the property were stunning! Thank you for making my stay so memorable.

We are a couple of pensioners with small dog that stayed at pet friendly Blairmains for one night. Our room was very clean and spacious with a nice view but there is a community kitchen area for eating meals together which was a very welcome addition. The hosts are friendly and breakfast was excellent which filled us up until evening meal. I would say this guest house is amazing value for money and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if we are in the area. If you choose to stay here beware of missing the entrance to the property as it's a long way round to return (road works in the vicinity were causing problems at the time of our visit)
