Crossbasket Castle, Hotel & Restaurant, un SLH Hotel

Wedding review not as a hotel stay. A luxury venue for a wedding. Amazing grounds, well landscaped. Only issue was the bar. Staffed by very you persons who weren't sufficiently trained. Four times, exact same round, initially charged a different price. More needs to be done before letting them work solo. Similarly no staff seemed to keep a proper eye on buffet with restock very slow. Plates not cleared away after and left on tables rest of night.

Very poor experience for my 60th birthday on 11th April. Reservations downgraded our room in the castle a week in advance and tried to palm my husband off with a suite in the new annexe which he refused as he’d booked a Junior suite in the castle back in November. It was a special occasion and he wasn’t very happy with the room we were in as he felt the carpet was almost threadbare in places. There was a very poor excuse given for not honouring the room that was booked too. We also had an awful experience in Trocadero where I had to send my food back twice and when it did eventually arrive it was quite unpleasant and I had to sit and eat on my own as the rest of the table had long finished their food. Staff don’t know what they are doing, getting drinks orders wrong, not being attentive to guests and generally being very slow. We have complained formally however the Manager has not given us the courtesy of a response or an apology. It was an expensive mistake which we won’t repeat.

A beautiful hotel in a stunning location. We went to Crossbasket Castle today for Tea 4 Two (birthday treat). The service and food were both excellent... fine dining at its best. We were able to relax and enjoy the comfort and tasteful elegance of the place without feeling hurried in any way. Perfect!

My wife and I took our newborn son to Crossbasket in order to celebrate his arrival. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The staff were all very personable and it felt as if they already knew why we were there. They also went the extra mile with nice little personal touches like a note of congratulations at afternoon tea and the manager even came over to introduce herself and offer the hotels congratulations. The grounds are stunning and immaculately kept with great attention to detail. Our room was fantastic, as was our lovely dinner in Foverans restaurant. We've been fortunate enough to stay in some of Scotland's most reputable hotels but the customer service here was the best we've experienced. I really can't find fault with this place and with the introduction of the Lodges and Spa later this year I think it will take it to another level. I can easily see it becoming one of the most popular places to visit in the west of Scotland.

My fiancé and I stayed recently as we are getting married here next year. We stayed in the onsite hotel and our stay was absolutely incredible! Every single member of staff we encountered were so polite, friendly and attentive. The food, drink and entertainment at Trocaderos were out of this world! It’s definitely a pricier stay but is absolutely worth the money.

Wonderful afternoon tea for our anniversary ❤️ Staff really friendly and helpful. Will be back!
