Ardnamurchan Scottish Restaurant & Bar

Ardnamurchan is a brilliant city‑centre spot if you’re looking for Scottish food that actually delivers on flavour rather than leaning on clichés. It’s easy to get to, right beside Queen Street, and the menu is packed with Scottish produce lik egame, seafood, broths and proper comfort dishes. The Cullen Skink was outstanding: rich, creamy and full of peat‑smoked haddock, exactly what you want on a dreich Glasgow day. The stovies were the “posher” version of the ones I grew up with, topped with a tattie scone and served with proper gravy, and the Soja Bakery sourdough with whipped leek‑ash butter was exceptional. For mains, the Ardnamurchan Estate wild venison pavé was beautifully cooked and paired with a bright redcurrant jus and fondant potato. The Speyside slow‑braised beef short rib was hearty, indulgent and full of flavour, with rumbledthumps and beer‑battered onion rings that made the whole dish feel complete. Even the sides shine; the roast hispi cabbage with buttered turnip, creamed corn and confit garlic emulsion was a standout. The menu is full of Scottish classics, and choosing between dishes like scallops, mussels, haggis or langoustines is genuinely difficult. Service was friendly, efficient and relaxed, and the wine pairing was spot‑on, especially the Ghost in the Machine Malbec‑Viognier, bursting with plums and cherries and perfect with red meats. The interior is warm and inviting, with a lovely bar, comfy booths, big tables for groups and bright window seating. Overall, Ardnamurchan is a great choice for anyone wanting confident, comforting Scottish cooking in the heart of Glasgow.

The food was amazing and the servers were very friendly. The whiskey selection was good. The bar service was a little slow but they did mention that would be the case. The market menu was a good price for what we got.

This is a superb Scottish Restaurant. The food selection is excellent. The staff are superb. Best to reserve but they found a table in a corner for us.

It was our first dinner in Glasgow, recommended by the hotel receptionist, and it couldn't have been better! We enjoyed an incredible dinner that we'll remember forever ;)

Great service from start to finish. Scallops were superb 👌 My wife didn't have her glasses and ordered the chicken without knowing it was served with haggis, our server didn't blink. Changed it for vegetarian and have me the other haggis. Cranachan and cheese board to finish were excellent. A bit quiet so normt a great buzz about it but service and food were excellent 👌 Thank you.

Had a brilliant evening here with my boyfriend - absolutely amazing and attentive service and everything came out (including drinks) so quickly!! Had one issue with main meal and was sorted speedily without a fuss. Will definitely come again <3

Delicious 2 course menu with game meat terrine and seafood stew. Great flavors but stew is quite salty. Could reduce salt and let customers add more if needed. Superb customer service and interior decor!

What a great experience. After an exhausting, hellish journey with Avanti from London to Glasgow, I stopped off here and had my first culinary Scottish experience. Good wine selection, very friendly and attentive service and an exciting selection of regional specialities - haggis reminds me a little of Weckewerk (a North Hessian speciality) and neeps and tatties feel very homely and like being at grandma's table. Portions are large enough to fill you up without the annoying feeling of overindulgence. Everything is beautifully and decoratively presented, but without frills. The coley was a little overcooked, but the samphire was very tender and firm to the bite and the fennel had a nice smoky flavour. I really liked the interplay of different textures, flavours and origins (from the ground, above the ground and in water). I'm already looking forward to coming back to Glasgow and eating here again.
