Plaza San Martín (Cruising)

Plaza San Martín, the grand civic square in Lima's historic centre, has for decades been one of the city's best-known outdoor gay meeting and cruising spots, especially after dark around its colonnades and side streets. It sits within the UNESCO-listed historic core and is busy and public by day. Safety note: this is a downtown area with petty-crime and robbery risk at night — stay alert, keep valuables hidden, avoid isolated corners and use registered taxis or ride-hail to arrive and leave. Same-sex activity is legal in Peru, but discretion in public is advisable.
