The outside of the place needs a lot of love. It looks a bit rundown to be honest. However, they were busy rebuilding the front porch steps, so maybe that's the start of a total overhaul, I don't know. The lobby was beautiful, and seemed to be well maintained, as well as the dining areas. Our room was spacious, but not super well maintained. I know it's a Victorian mansion, so things are supposed to look vintage, but they shouldn't look old. There's a difference. When we first arrived, the concierge was not available to check us in. We were told that he was in a meeting, so one of the other staff called the hotel next door to send somebody over to check us in. The boy who checked us in, didn't have a key to the drawer so he couldn't get everything he needed, and he was clearly not super comfortable at this desk. He apologized, and he did the best he could, but management should make sure somebody is at the desk when guests arrive. That was a major fail on their part. The breakfast was lovely. The food items were served on a three tier platter, and most of it was delicious. The only thing we didn't care for was the sausage, but everything else was really good. The service was also really nice.

Wonderful experience! We have one person who is gluten-free, and they went above and beyond, it was the first time he could enjoy everything! it was incredible! We had walked by the emperor and it was very noisy and seemed not anywhere near as could’ve been experience. It also is twice the price. This was absolute perfection! The best teatime we’ve done all around the world!

Perfect place for a mid week getaway. Located in a heritage mansion in the inner harbour, the ornate Pendray Inn and Tea House thoroughly exceeded our expectations, starting right from the booking process. I am mobility impaired and was not aware that the inn did not have an elevator and there would be a long climb to the room we booked online. I received a call informing me about this situation and we were given a room that involved less of a climb. I was most appreciative of this attention to detail. Entering the hotel is like stepping back in time from the classic Victorian architecture to the ornate interior paneling amd furniture. Our room, the Belleville Room, was stylish and spacious. There was excellent Nespresso coffee and quality tes available in room. Breakfast is included and is a highlight of the stay. Guests are given a choice of 'tiered' breakfasts. Take a look at the photos. The afternoon tea is also excellent. Overall, we had a wonderful visit and will definitely return next time we're in Victoria.

Very much enjoyed our stay. The hotel staff was warm and welcoming. Building itself was a trip back in time with just enough modern day improvements. Very nice to find personalized messages from Hotel in room when we arrived. We chose this spot for a bit of a staycation and enjoyed every minute. The fact that the Aerth Saunas are also connected to building made for a great experience all around.

We came in for Sunday Roast, which is a prix fix menu of soup, main course and dessert. All three courses were absolutely outstanding! The prime rib was perfectly cooked (medium rare) and extremely tender with no addtional seasoning needed (save some horseradish - you have to ask for it, but it's worth it!). Soup (pear parsnip) and dessert (bread pudding) also really hit the spot. I don't usually eat dessert, but that was very tasty. Service was efficient and very friendly. We were in and out in about an hour, but there was no rush to leave. Charming ambiance and a good location. Would definitely recommend!
