1. This is an LGBT spot. Ceo is part of the community. So if youre not comfortable then don't waste your money here. 2. I've seen better rooms at the marriott these rooms are so extremely small.You would think it's a dormitory instead of a hotel room. The bathrooms it's smaller Andy if you happen to get lucky and open the window its a sewage smell that will enter the bathroom. Keep the door closed. 3. Drag brunches, if that's your taste go a head, the brunch was not for civilized, heterosexual people. And not only was I greatly offended.I'm glad I just did not feel comfortable being in that type of space. 4. On the subject of housekeeping, you can hear every thing they are saying because the the walls are so thin that housekeeping will play their music loudly in the hallways, which will disturb any type of rest youre trying to get. Customer service is the only thing I can positively say about this hotel. So find a different place to stay while youre in San juan.

The location was great right by the beach but the rooms was false advertising. I was supposed to have a King size bed but the bed was queen/full size the room was small like a college dorm and the walls are so thin I can hear when other guests in the hallway talking and the maids blasting music and singing in the morning without any concern for guest and they maid are very rude. I won't recommend if you're looking for some high quality its not worth the price.

Comfy bed, nicely maintained premises, and outstanding staff. Our room was totally quiet with no noise issues, and we were in bed before 10 every night. The on-site restaurant/ bar is great. Food was excellent and we liked every drink we tried. Table, chairs, and umbrella are free on the Beach, the sand and surf are generally pretty clean, and it was overall a great place to stay. It will be incredible once they remodel. Pro tip is to come down to the beach in the morning, if you'd like to be there without music blasting from every hotel and speaker on the beach. Beautiful and peaceful until about 10am. Also, the Sunday drag brunch was so much fun. I'm a straight man pushing 40 and had such a blast. Good food and drinks, reasonably priced with almost two hours of entertainment. Highly recommended for anyone coming to San Juan, whether you stay here or not.

The property is beautiful and literally right on the beach — we had a beach-view room and waking up to that view every day was amazing. The location is super convenient too: just a short Uber ride to Old San Juan and an easy scooter ride over to La Placita de Santurce, so it was really easy to explore. The hotel also provides beach chairs and umbrellas, which made beach days effortless and relaxing. Overall, perfect mix of location, views, and convenience. Would definitely stay here again!

Great hotel. Deserves higher than the 4.1 it currently has on google as I write this review. The beach club is wonderful, we had the cheapest and smallest room which was still very comfortable and well sized for a couple. The bed was the most comfortable one we had during our stay. Staff was informative and very friendly and extremely helpful. The resturant and bar was also very good. All in all I’m so glad I found this place and booked it. Valet parking was a good value and very easy to use. Highly recommend this if you want a beach club hotel experience.

I’ve stayed at The Tryst Beachfront Hotel multiple times, and this has been my worst experience by far. Within minutes of arriving to our room, an employee entered without knocking while we were inside, which was extremely uncomfortable and a serious privacy concern. The first room we were given was in poor condition. It had a noticeable sewage smell, visible rust on the sink, and the shower caused water to flood the bathroom due to an improper curtain setup. We eventually had to switch rooms, and the difference was significant, which shows that room quality is very inconsistent. Service was also lacking. At the beach, the attendant was on their phone with headphones in and didn’t acknowledge us while we were standing right in front of them trying to get towels and chairs despite resort fees being charged for these amenities. I also had a conversation with management that felt dismissive at times, as my concerns were interrupted or brushed off instead of fully heard. It’s disappointing because I’ve had better experiences here in the past, but this stay felt like a clear decline. Between the lack of privacy, maintenance issues, and inconsistent service, this was not the level of experience I expected. I hope the hotel takes these concerns seriously, as there is potential here, but significant improvements are needed.

The Tryst Hotel San Juan earns a solid 4 stars from us. The location is absolutely incredible and hard to beat if you want easy beach access. The real highlight, though, was the staff. Angel and Jessica are true standouts. They clearly love their jobs, genuinely enjoy interacting with guests, and brought a level of warmth and energy that made the stay memorable. Those kinds of employees elevate a property. There are, however, some clear opportunities to improve. For a beach hotel, having only five umbrellas available for the entire property, with two of them broken, is a major miss. Shade at the beach is not a luxury item, it is a basic expectation. Also, if you are charging premium cocktail prices at the beach bar, the liquor program needs to match. Guests paying resort-level prices should not be getting bottom-shelf pours like Jose or Stoli. And we did experience the same water issue that other guests mention. Woke up on Friday morning to absolutely no water. When I inquired, I was told, “yes, a slight water main break… you should have it have 20-25 minutes.” Net net, would we stay again? Yes, but only if we landed the same last-minute Expedia deal of around $250 per night. At that price, it feels like a fun and worthwhile stay. At the full rack rate of roughly double that, the value proposition gets much harder to justify.

Great atmosphere and excellent location. Some waitstaff, like Rebeca, provide very good service. However, the bartenders consistently offer poor service — no eye contact, no acknowledgment, and slow attention. I’ve visited multiple times and it’s always the same. A place with great potential, but the bar service needs serious improvement.
