The Butler House On Grand

I had the pleasure of staying at this incredible Airbnb while passing through town. The house is beautifully decorated, the bed was extremely comfortable, they had drinks and snacks available on each floor, and food to make breakfast in the kitchen. They even have a huge game room! The owners are absolutely wonderful people and you can tell they take pride in making sure everyone has an incredible experience. I highly recommend The Butler House on Grand!

Beautiful property with a unique and exquisite look with modern amenities. The owners (Jeremiah and Sheryl) do an amazing job, of taking care of all your needs as covering the basic needs for your stay. Complimentary beverages and snacks are included as well as a fridge stocked with everything you need for breakfast in the morning . Every room has its own unique look and feel to it and the game room comes complete with video games, air hockey, fireball, and a ping pong table! Truly a unique and wonderful experience. We'll definitely be back!!

My fiancé and I stayed here for a surprise birthday gift. From the onset, Sheryl was amazing. She replied promptly to any questions I had and it was obvious that she cared about making sure our experience was as memorable as it could be. When we arrived, Jeremiah was there to greet us and gave a fantastic tour, explained the history of the house and offered to make any accommodations that we could have asked for. Due to the adverse weather, we had the entire house to ourselves, which was absolutely perfect. Our room was fantastic and the entire house was very well maintained. The lounge area was perfect for relaxing together and the basement included a pool and foosball table as well as a tabletop arcade with every game imaginable to really get the childhood nostalgia going. The kitchen was fully stocked and getting to cook for my fiancé without being on a time schedule allowed for an added level of intimacy that you don't see in a traditional B&B. Originally we were only supposed to stay one night but because of the time we were having, we decided to extend it to last the entire weekend, which is a testament to the experience we were provided with. I could not more highly recommend the Butler House on Grand and will most definitely be making return trips in the future.

This place is a great and the owners rock.

We recently stayed here for our 11th year wedding anniversary. We were met at the door given a tour provide complimentary wine. Every room was designed gourgously and they were very romantic. They provided so much food and all the necessary items were easily accessible to cook if wanting to. 100% will stay here again. HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you are looking to just get away together.

OMG, this place is gorgeous, at every detail. The owners were so accommodating and followed up on everything. I couldn't have had a better stay at a great price, Great location, great amenities. The owners went above and beyond and had birthday cupcake surprises for us. I've stayed at other B&B and VRBOs this one knocks them out of the park. Just do it.

My husband and I stayed here one night for our 34th year anniversary. We loved our stay! It is a very charming house along with the owners. We took advantage of the game room how cool! We went and got dinner and brought it back and enjoyed it in the butlers pantry area, so cute. The bed was so comfortable we slept great! We will definitely be going back. Sheryl and Jeremiah are incredible hosts that thought of every detail to make our stay away from home wonderful! The guest rooms are beautiful! Beds are very comfortable, linens wonderful, and plush towels and robes in each room. There is access to snacks and drinks 24/7 and the refrigerator is well-stocked to make yourself an amazing breakfast. The shared spaces are comfortable and inviting and the game room in the basement is a fun addition! We were there to bike the area trails with friends and the location is just perfect. One of the trailheads is right down the hill and we biked downtown to the Des Moines Farmers Market and beyond and got an easy 20 mile ride in on beautiful trails. We highly recommend the Butler House on Grand for a getaway for two or for a group of friends!

This is a wonderful bed and breakfast, one of the best. I have nothing but positive things to say about the home, owners, and amenities. Super convenient location.

Only stayed here a night and I’m hooked the hospitality was amazing bonus points for the snacks! Everything was so well furnished the game room never lets you bored

My wife and I celebrated our wedding weekend here with our whole wedding party and it was such an amazing experience. We had the reception right across the street at the Art center and it was such a relief to just walk across the street and have our after-party with our friends and family. We will be staying here every year for our anniversary. Sheryl and Jeremiah were so easy to work with and came to our aid whenever we needed them.

Actually I didn't stay here and I never plan to stay here due to the host writing an extremely negative email response to me when I was taken by surprise when she quoted the room cost to me when the website stated that rooms were $125-$175 a night and she quoted me $250. Instead of giving me the benefit of doubt and asking where I read the information she stated that the information "was NOT on the website" and mentioned I should "clear my cache". And went on to state that this was a luxury B & B that does over $1.1 mil in sales a year. Well she was wrong, I screen shot the wording that calls out the name of the place as well as the pricing mentioned above and emailed her back. Of course she didn't respond, not even graciously to say she apologized. Take this review for what you want, I for one, don't feel a "luxury" business would treat any potential customer this way so I have decided this business is not worth any amount of money to stay.
