The Waterford Inne
Visitors frequently praise the Waterford Inne for its peaceful atmosphere, charming accommodations, and exceptional hospitality, with many highlighting the delicious farm-to-table dining. However, one guest found the cancellation fee to be unreasonably high, especially for a reservation made well in advance.

An absolute jewel in the town of Waterford Maine! We are renovating a house in Waterford and could not have gotten luckier than to stumble upon this charming B&B close by. Our room was cozy and convenient in all ways necessary. Everything about the Inne was top notch and inviting, from the common area of the house to the beautiful grounds to the quaint and delightful barn restaurant/bar where we enjoyed specialty cocktails and a dinner that to me and my husband was Michelin recognizable! Everyone was delightful and we felt incredibly welcomed! Can't wait to stay there again soon!
Last weekend I attended a writing workshop in Maine. I signed up late, so while all the other attendees stayed at a neighboring property, I ended up at the Waterford Inne. And don't tell anyone (no shade to the other inn which was also beautiful), but I lucked out! I live in LA, so Maine in itself is like another planet to me, but the Waterford Inne was like a magical escape into a world of relaxation, complete with an enchanting orchestra of bullfrogs, owls, chickens. I even got to experience a thunderstorm! (That right there is worth five stars from Ms. It Never Rains in California!) My mom was an antique collector, and right away I knew she would have approved of the gorgeous antique rugs, tables, and wall hangings. The bed in my adorable room was super comfy and the delicious farm fresh breakfasts (The eggs came from the cluck section of the enchanting orchestra I mentioned earlier.) were served in the spectacular barn of wood walls and giant beams that was somehow huge and cozy at the same time. If I didn't have a retreat to go to, I could have sat in there all day. My lovely hosts Kember, Jack, and Sam took great care of me. I highly recommend going to this charming inne before everyone discovers it and it's always booked. I'm attaching pics and yes, that frittata (with asparagus and herbs from the garden) is as good as it looks! BRAVO!
Truly an incredible experience from start to finish. Kember and the team were astounding! It was so peaceful and the house really had every small touch you could think of to make it cozy. The breakfasts were incredible, shoutout to Sam and Jack, and the dinner! Amazing! We were honored that they were willing to do a custom dinner for us even though we were the only ones staying at the inn. We were there right before Memorial Day and it was perfect. So many places to spend quiet time reading. Cannot recommend it enough. We stayed in the Poet and the balcony was our favorite part - the stairs are quite steep so be aware of that when you book. We had just enough phone signal to navigate to where we needed to go, but keep that in mind as well!
I think we had the most perfect weekend here!! Kember, Greta and the team are amazing. They have a knack for making you feel right at home. The property is perfect - so peaceful. Highly recommend booking a dinner at Tallulah’s - insaaaane farm to table dishes. From the decor, to the rooms, to the breakfast (included with your room), it was very much a 10/10 experience. We can’t wait to come back.
There are places you stay, and then there are places that make you pause and wonder if you could build a life around feeling this peaceful all the time. That’s what Waterford Inne has become for us. As someone who lives in the intensity and noise of inner-city life, this place feels like the exhale you don’t realize you’ve been needing. Every detail reflects genuine care. We’ve loved sitting on the porch at sunset with our dog, listening to nature, spotting wildlife, and waking up to chickens outside the window while climbing out of the coziest bed imaginable. What makes this place so special isn’t just the beauty, it’s the feeling. Family-run in the best possible way! Warm, intentional, personal, and held to a standard of quality that exceeds expectations. As we dream about becoming Mainers sooner rather than later, this has already become our second home- the place we’ll return to again and again while we build the dream. Until then, we’ll happily keep living it here.
Called took book a room for one night as we are in town for a wedding. Women I spoke to was very nice. We called back a day latter to cancel the room reservation(literally the next day). They canceled it no problem, however charged us a 65 dollar cx fee? I think this is absurd. Our reservation was 60 days out. That is an insane policy. Also we were never told when we made the original reservation on the phone about this policy.
