Mahoning Inn

Not good.We were put into a room badly in need of renovating. It had a very bad, musty smell to it. The bathroom was bad. Sink vanity being held up by a 2x4, drain stopper not usable(drain plugged). It was fixed the next day but on a 2 night stay, next day is unacceptable. You NEED a working bathroom sink! There was also no smoke detector. A safety code violation! Motels can be shut down for this! One of the 2 queen beds was so noisy you could not move on it or you would wake up the sleeper in the next bed. Now the "breakfast", yeah they had some things there, but not the listed bottled water or yogurt. No sources of protein except for a tiny cup of peanut butter. No fruit. Really not a good breakfast at all. I would not recommend anyone to stay here and would definitely not go back. I am not a fussy person but while this was not the worst place I've ever stayed, it ranks right up there!

Two British brothers on a road trip across the states staying in independent motels, independent restaurants and fuel (where possible)... trying not to give money to 'the man' but to the independents. Stumbled upon this motel while visiting Jim Thorpe. Met Bill the owner, what a lovely guy. The motel was being updated during our stay, he is putting in money and effort to update, and have to say, for a budget night, no complaints. Clean and comfortable. Well done Bill (and your excellent lobby team).

This is a moderately priced motel. Rooms are outdated and need painting, with no frills. Shower was great however! Breakfast consists of cereal, waffles. bagels, English muffins and muffins. Refrigerator and microwave in room. Several Eating possibilities within walking distance. Some noise from the refrigerator and from the bathroom, but not enough to keep you awake. Our room was in the back so quiet from traffic. Easy, friendly check in. Ok place to stay for the price.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Mahoning Inn! The room was very clean, and the staff was wonderful and especially helpful! I left an item in my room after I had left and they helped ship it back to me many states away. I'll definitely come back next year!

When you check I. They have you sign a waiver stating no smoking in the room $150.00 fee. (Not an issue we don’t smoke. The first room we were in trigger an asthma attack with in 15 minutes of my daughter being in it. Cigarette burn marks on the bed. Cigarette ash in the dresser drawer. Online photos are absolutely not anything like the room that we were in. After complaining we were moved to a second room. The second room did not stink, the wooden floor was very dirty.

Friendly, clean, convenient hotel. Breakfast was fine: not big selection, but decent. Walking distance to a great Italian restaurant. Not a fancy place, but new mattresses and well kept room. We asked for a quiet room and the room facing the back was just right.

I reserved a room for my wife and her friend to attend a concert. I went through Bluegreen reservation services. My assumption was that since it was through Bluegreen, it would be a reasonable place to stay. Additionally, the limited information on the web did not lead me to believe there was any problem with it Unfortunately that was terribly wrong. The place is a dump. There’s no security because the door to the room is an indoor door very flimsy and easily knocked down and there’s only a chain and a turn knob to lock it. The rooms smelled. The carpet smelled. The bathroom smelled. Everything was dirty. It was freezing cold. They were gas cans outside, right next to the living area and people that look like they were long-term residence smoking right next to the gasoline. It’s fortunate that they did not explode. There’s no closet just wall rack. The microwave was filthy. Basically don’t waste your money. Go someplace else. They have a hell of a nerve even charging people to stay there disgusting, smelly, filthy, unsafe, hellhole.

Give this a 3.5. This is an older hotel. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and amenities are simple. The rooms are non-smoking, but there are receptacles for smokers, so the smoke travels. Our first room smelled of mold, when we asked to be moved we were. The staff was nice and accommodating.

This is a small, roadside motel that suited our needs just fine. We were in the area for a concert and just needed a place to sleep and shower. It was quiet, the room was clean and looked like it was recently spruced up.The water pressure in the shower was excellent. The continental breakfast was a nice touch with coffee, juice, milk, cereal, pastry, bagels, fruit and yogurt. The staff were nice and very accommodating. Check in and out was easy and ice was readily available. Our only minor issues were that the pillows were flat and the dials on the AC unit didn't have any markings left on them so we kind of guessed at the settings until we got it adjusted. Once we figured it out, it worked fine. Overall, for the price we paid, we will consider staying again next time we are in the area . We will just bring a pillow or two.

Overpriced and terrible hotel. Stayed one night while going to a concert nearby. Never again. The smoke smell was intolerable. Dirty room and the locks on the door didn’t feel secure The only positive was the women who checked us in. Considered leaving to go to Hampton Inn down the road but since we’d already paid and spent very little time in the room decided to suffer it out.
