Spiaggia Axel Hotel Miami

This is the worst hotel I’ve ever seen or tried to stay at. There was blood stains on the sheet, mildew all over the shower and cracks in the bathroom towel. The carpet was filthy dirty in the hallway and I didn’t have a blind on my window. I can see out and they could see in and no hot water.

Very mediocre room. Small bottle of water for $5. Very poor soundproofing. The air conditioning blasted directly in my face while I slept. It was impossible to turn it off. And there was a constant buzzing noise that kept me awake and gave me a migraine. I only stayed one night instead of three because I couldn't sleep. The hotel, which had rooms available online, refused to change my room because they were fully booked. It was impossible to contact a manager, who also didn't respond to emails. Friendly staff. Interesting original building.

Absolute nightmare, the hotel bar plays super loud music all night and the windows have zero noise insulation so you’re guaranteed to get no sleep while staying there. Be smart and book anywhere else!

This is probably one of the best places I've ever stayed. Every staff member is so accommodating and nice. We stayed here twice this year, before and after our cruise. The location cannot be beat with a small piece of beach dedicated for the hotel chain, just 2 blocks East. You are in the middle of everything. Marlon was extra helpful, replacing the water in the gym and just being overall cheery. I love that it is renovated from the 1940's but needs just a touch up from all the moisture. It is what it is. And overall, it's awesome!!!! Thank you to all the staff!!!

Terrible hotel, room 337 was filthy, housekeeping nonexistent except for changing the bed and towels, rusty bathroom shelves, no furniture to put toiletries on, terrible reception, they don't even tell you where you'll get breakfast, which is nonexistent anyway: American coffee and mini croissants, orange juice from a carton. In short, the value for money is terrible. €300 a night is outrageous, avoid at all costs.

This is an amazing chilled out location after a hectic travel day. We have a fantastic apartment.

Checked in tonight & already booked somewhere else to stay. Stains all over the curtains, walls & flooring. Dust collecting under the curtains as well. Mould and rust littered through out the bathroom. Faucet/sink barely cleaned with facial hair clippings everywhere. Shower drain doesn’t drain at all. TV doesn’t work at all either. Paid for a “4 star hotel”, would rather stay in a hostel somewhere.

I don’t like to leave negative reviews, but my stay at Axel South Beach was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had, and I feel it’s important to share. I came to get away from the cold of NYC for a few days of sun and relaxation, but what should have been a stress-free escape ended up being more stressful than living in NYC in the winter. When I first arrived, I was "upgraded" to a corner room, which was spacious, so that seemed like a good start. But when I got back later that evening, the room was incredibly hot on an 80°F day. I tried adjusting the thermostat, but I kept getting an error message. I figured I could open the window to cool things down, but it was screwed shut. To top it off, there was no handle on the shower, so I couldn’t even use it. I tried calling reception, but the phone just kept going to a busy signal (seemingly on purpose, because he was the only staff on the entire property). Eventually, I went down to reception in person. The receptionist was friendly and apologetic, but he told me that my room (217) was marked as "out of service" and, since the hotel was full, there was no other room available. So, I had to spend the night in a hot, uncomfortable room with no shower, a broken TV, broken phone, and no AC. On top of that, housekeeping knocked on my door at 8 AM, even though I had the privacy notice on my door. It was a pretty frustrating experience, especially for the price. On the second day, an unapologetic reception moved me to another room, which had working AC, TV, and a phone, but NO hot water. After not being able to shower the day before, I had to settle for a cold shower. I also spent some time by the pool with a friend, but unfortunately, it was pretty dirty and had a strange smells, and just not well maintained. We didn’t feel comfortable relaxing there. The one bright spot was the pool waiter, who was friendly, prompt, and really made us feel welcomed, but we left after one drink. I ended up cutting my stay short, and at $200/night plus a $44 resort fee (which only covered two small bottles of water and a pool that no one wanted to use), it just didn’t feel worth it. I’ve stayed at Axel Hotels in other cities—Barcelona, Buenos Aires, Maspalomas, and Berlin—and always had a great experience, so I was really disappointed by this one. The hotel felt dirty and neglected, and it's clear they’re under-staffed. The management could definitely use some improvement. It's a shame because this hotel has a lot of potential. I would’ve loved to embrace the Axel brand, but unfortunately, I ended up switching to The Royal Palm (right next door), which is a much better experience, even though it cost a bit more. All in all, I feel like I scammed out of $500 for two pretty rough nights. It’s frustrating to leave a place feeling more stressed than when you arrived. I really hope the hotel takes the feedback seriously, because with some attention to detail and better management, it could be a great spot.

This beautiful hotel provided us with a fantastic time. The staff was outstanding, as was the best. A special mention to Marlon, who was attentive to our every need. Cheerful, professional, a great person. THANK YOU. Paola was also professional, making our stay perfect every day. The breakfast staff was also very professional. Very attentive. We will definitely return. The location is great.

You are going to get the absolute bare minimum at this axel location. The bathrooms are moldy, no room service, you get 2 tiny pillows, WiFi is spotty, and everything needs to be upgraded desperately. I like the gym, and the location of this hotel is great. Compared to other axel hotels, this one is kind of embarrassing. Happily paying more elsewhere for a better experience.
