I admit I was quite hesitant about staying at the Paramount Hotel in Times Square because of the reviews and many people saying how it isn't safe to stay in the area. But I'm genuinely happy I did anyway and would 10000% stay in this hotel again. The location is PERFECT. Literally one minute up the road and you're already in the heart of Times Square with so many places to eat, shop and there's also a 7-Eleven around the corner for anything you might need. We were booked in for 5 nights initially but we ended up staying an additional 2 nights because our flight was cancelled. The staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. A HUGE thank you and special mention to ARIEL, who went above and beyond to ensure we were well looked after during this stressful time. We had two family rooms booked (409 and 1525) which did differ in size. One was much bigger than the other but in all honesty, we didn't mind it AT ALL, especially as we were predominantly out during the day. Regardless, the beds were super comfy, rooms cleaned everyday and where it was absolutely freezing in New York at the time we went, it was always nice and warm in the room. It served its purpose for us. One thing I think is worth mentioning, which I know some people wouldn't like, is the breakfast is a grab-and-go option - one drink and a warm croissant (plain or ham/egg and cheese options) or granola. For us, this worked well as we took our food out but you could also sit in the restaurant if you liked, but can get quite busy around 8-10am. It just isn't a "full" breakfast. Each to their own but it wasn't a problem for us. Overall, super super happy to have stayed here and if ever we're in New York again, this will be our first pick!
Great location cant get any closer to times square, rooms are slightly small but bed is absolutely comfortable. Our room was quite cold, windows weren't keeping the cold out and or the heating wasn't working. We used blankets provided to place on the windows which helped. Bathroom is outdated needs to be updated. Staff at reception were nice Staff that clean the rooms were amazing. No security at all which was slightly concerning as most hotels have security. Lobby was funky, great entertainment on at night, prices for drinks weren't bad, coffee shop was handy too. Lifts were quick up and down but slightly small so sometimes there was a wait. Overall great hotel, location spot on. Would stay again.
We recently stayed at this hotel, which is in a very good location, which was definitely a major advantage. For sightseeing, it was very convenient. The hotel itself is large, and the reception area is lovely, modern, and trendy. First impressions were great. However, unfortunately, the rooms did not match the vibe of the lobby. Our room was particularly small, although it did have a large bathroom attached. The room itself felt quite dated and in need of refurbishment. The carpet was dirty with visible stains, paint was peeling off the walls, and there was mould growing underneath the clear sealant around the bath. However the housekeeping staff were lovely, and did a good job of tidying the hotel. Also came into a slight issue with our bathroom light going off, told reception and it was fixed right away. We stayed on the 17th floor and didn’t hear much hallway noise, which was good. However, outside noise from Times Square was still quite loud, especially at night, which is something we expected. It’s also worth noting that if you are visiting as a tourist, you will need to pay city tax, and there is an additional charge if you want the hotel to store your suitcases after checkout while you explore before your flight. Overall, the location is fantastic, the lobby is impressive and staff were friendly and helpful, but the rooms would benefit greatly from updating and better maintenance.
Just came back from a 5 day trip. We stayed here. We had no concerns. The room was lovely. Cleaned every day. The heating system was a little noisy, but nothing we couldn't cope with. We had no problems with waiting for or using the lifts. The staff were all very lovely and helpful. Our check in time wasn't until 4pm but we had arrived early and Natalie was very helpful in finding a room for us right away. The hotel is in a great location and central to everything we needed. The lobby and bar were beautiful and nicely decorated too for valentines day. We made use of the perfect little gym they have on the 2nd floor at no extra cost. We had to be checked out for 11am, although we had a late flight this wasn't a problem as the hotel held our bags for $3 per bag, so this was helpful. We had an amazing time and an amazing stay at this hotel. Thankyou ☺️
Genuinely enjoyed our stay here and will stay again. The lobby is really quiet unique and always was busy and bustling exactly how we expect a NY place to be, staff were very kind and helpful, when our flight home got changed they offered us complementary late check out at noon, which was amazing! The elevators were FAST and clean. Loads of reviews mentioned the washrooms and general look, I think just reviews need to put into account the age of the building, the sign in the lobby says the building is nearly 100 years so of course its gonna be aged a bit. The washrooms would be nice to have a counter but that's being a bit picky IMO as I understand that furniture and fixtures cant be changed, the tub also could do with re-grounting in spots. Note: The doors are heavy, push hard (like really hard) in order to get the door open, we had to ask staff what we were doing wrong.
