The Ellwanger Estate

The Ellwanger Estate is absolutely beautiful and the location is perfect. If you are interested in the bike trail it is right near the trail and the biking is fantastic! The amenities were top notch and Rosemary is a terrific host!!! Thank you!

The B&B is in a fantastic location. The innkeeper is there when you need her otherwise she leaves you be to read a book in the quiet library, sit on the veranda admiring the garden, or napping in your room. Breakfast is full course and delish. She even has coffee and tea all day available. It's a great experience.

When travel brings me to Rochester, the Ellwanger Estate is my only choice. Perfect for both business trips and vacations, Rosemary and her team have thought of everything to ensure the most comfortable and enjoyable stay possible. Highlights include the historic mansion, the lovely and expertly appointed rooms, the gourmet breakfast, the thoughtful collaboration with local Rochester businesses (coffee, tea, etc.), and their support of local museums and musicians. It's equally lovely to watch the snow fall from a comfortable fireside chair, or to enjoy the sunny veranda and a stroll through the summer gardens. The Ellwanger Estate comes with my highest recommendation.

Since we discovered the Ellwanger a few years ago, we stay no where else when visiting Rochester. With Rosemary's attention to detail, welcoming spirit, and warm hospitality the Estate offers the perfect mix of charm and comfort.

Rosemary is a great host. We have stayed at the Ellwanger Estate a couple of times and have yet to be disappointed. The rooms are clean and well kept. The location is great, and Rosemary is so kind and helpful. Her breakfast is great too! She even slips in evening cookies. We look forward to visiting again!

We had our wedding here. It was extraordinary. All of my guests said it was the most beautiful ceremony. And the estate and home are gorgeous. We can’t wait to go back for a future anniversary.

Rosemary was amazing! We felt so welcome and the grounds and house were absolutely beautiful. We felt like special guests and I would say here again 10/10!!! The rooms were so clean and the breakfast was delicious.

Staying at the Ellwanger Estate made my trip to be in line of site of the TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE April 8, 2024 sooo much better! From the communication upfront, to the various nooks to explore and spend time in at the estate, and the multi-phased breakfasts, this BnB experience felt great. If that wasn't enough, Rosemary had light workout items available for use, arranged for a live jazz band to bridge the shared eclipse experience, and gave me flexibility on my departure time -- all making my visit to Rochester as a solo traveler feel both grounded and grand. Loved staying here. A nice early birthday present to myself.

Beautiful location with incredible attention to detail. Had a beautiful wedding there. Rosemary kept everything organized. Every need you could imagine was already taken care of if you looked around. All the guests were incredibly impressed.
