EDITED - The GM reached out to me direct to remedy the situation. For now I have changed to 5-Stars as they are attempting to make right. As a business owner myself, I appreciate them stepping up and attempting to remedy our experience. Nobody is perfect but the effort is what matters. My wife and I just dined at Morton’s in Downtown San Diego for our anniversary. We enjoy fine dining and have been longtime patrons of this location. We decided to come to Morton’s over Born and Raised, STk, Mastros, Flemings, etc. We sat in the bar at a high top table. From the moment we sat down the service was absolutely embarrassing. I’ve had better service at Denny’s. I would like to go over a list of items WE had to find a server and ASK for. 1. Menu (twice) 2. Soda refills 3. Wine refills 4. After 50mins, update on our food 5. To-Go Box 6. Desert menu 7. Check Every one of those items we had to proactively find a server and ask. Our food took 50+ minutes to arrive, drinks were empty, not a single server checked on us or even asked if we were celebrating anything. The worst part, is once we found someone to take our credit card, another 15 minutes goes by and the card was sent back to a neighboring table and was not investigated until we were clearly agitated. Luckily the other diner noticed and notified the server. I can’t imagine this level of service is acceptable. Needless to say, after visiting for 20+ years, We won’t be coming back. THE WORST PART…I sent an email to the GM and also corporate. Neither even had the courtesy to give me a response.

Very good food. Service was decent but it was a pretty full house and I could sense that this was a chain type restaurant. The appetizer crab cakes and lamb chops were pretty tasty although maybe a hair salty. The Caesar salad was tasty. The filet was unusually large and the shrimp on the side where a great accompaniment. Thr remy maryin sauce was excellent. Wines were okay based on the set menu with a vendor sponsored meal. That said we ordered separate bottles and the first was pretty severely corked and definitely unpleasant which made for an awkward experience. The somm agreed thenrecommended a substitute which was quite nice and we all had a good experience. Though they serve wines at room temp, 70+. I prefer wine around 60-65. Overall nice.

We’ve dined at Morton’s many times as a family, and the food is always delicious, but the service is what keeps us coming back. Corey has taken care of us on our last five visits, and he is truly exceptional—always kind, attentive, efficient, and welcoming. He makes us feel right at home every time. We always look forward to seeing him!

We love this place from the food to our service with Korey. Korey is so professional with amazing customer service. We will continue requesting for him to be part of our date nights.
