The Watergate Hotel

Very bad experience with there supposedly gourmet night at the Top for food, drinks, and fireworks show. Too many people were sold tickets for an enjoyable time.

Fine. The rooms are small but the bathroom was great. Linens & housekeeping were great. Concierge was missing most of the time. Valet parking only- calling down early for your car only partially worked. Most times they’d say oh when you say you called 15 mins ago 😳. Only one or two people on staff at front desk. Resort fee & tax added on to each day. Had no idea until we checked out. Location on the river is great but hotel not close to much of interest so you’re driving or taking a taxi! Outside of hotel is very tired & old. Needed a power wash outside the main entrance.

An overpriced older hotel needing a spruce job , experiencing staffing issues , and offering very mediocre food , must be better choices and value in area..in adding an additional day to our stay,website clearly advertised $295, when got bill it was @ther gouging rate of $695. They Wouldnt honor advertised rate..

Great place to stay, highly recoment 4th of July package. It was fantastic.

We found it to be a fun idea to Stay at the Watergate due to the historical significance. It is quite a ways from DC attractions though. Staff was all very friendly and our room was spacious and always clean. The common areas are also kept very clean. The restaurant was OK. We found the selections to be limited, but again the staff was easy to work with.

Very poor and disappointing service. Poor management. I planned a bachelorette style spa day that was ruined because there was no one working at the spa.

Upon arrival I dealt with Sara. She was extremely professional and very nice from the start to Finish of my check-in process. She guided me to a nearby restaurant, which was amazing. She is definitely a pleasure to be greeted by! I will definitely be staying here again thank you Sara!!

The Watergate hotel experience was fantastic. The dinner and service at the Kingbird was terrific, in fact we had dinner 2 times. We returned for lunch during our stay but didn't get service, not even water or place settings, so we left. We never returned for dinner due to getting ignored at lunch, so went to another restaurant in Virginia.

Very very exspencive. And they will charge extra for use of pool, spa, eminities do be warn. Staf is excellent food is excellent room was great but the price is rich person price. Not for me .. never again!

Historic building and nice proximity to Georgetown. Rooms are nice. Customer service and attention to detail very poor. They couldn't get things right either night of our stay.

Worth the money to stay here once for history purposes. Wouldn’t stay here again unless they were having a special discounted rate or something. You could also stay somewhere nicer for the same money and just eat dinner here to say you’ve been. You could also stay somewhere cheaper that is still nicer and do that as well. Glad we went but won’t go back.

We really enjoyed our stay here. And for those choosing to stay here in the future on the 4th of July and want a view of the fireworks, do NOT reserve a room with a river view. It's also best to get a room in a high floor with a high number (closest to the end of the building). We also really enjoyed the fact that the hotel was walking distance from the Georgetown waterfront which had many dining opportunities. The only downside was that the really big TVs in the room had no option to connect a personal device, despite having access to several inputs. Otherwise, great hotel.
