Kimpton Shorebreak Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort

Great location just a few blocks from the beach. Love the beach condo vibe. Very friendly and helpful check in. 2 hours free use of the boulevard bikes. There is a pool on the ground floor (perfectly fine and quiet) and the lovely rooftop pool in the attached second building. Excellent bar and restaurant by the lobby. Room was bright, clean, airy and spacious. Bright lights outside at nighttime, which are not completely blocked by the shades. Huge bathroom and shower. Love the retro fridge and stereo. Robes were a nice touch. Fun play area outside (ping pong table), lots of outdoor seating. Beach chairs are available a short walk away. Affordable. Highly recommend.

I stayed at the Kimpton Shorebreak Fort Lauderdale from July 16 through July 20. This was my second stay at the property, although my previous visit was when it operated as the Kimpton Goodland. The biggest strength of this hotel is its location. It’s less than a five minute walk to the beach and within easy walking distance of restaurants, bars, and other attractions. The staff were consistently friendly throughout my stay. On my last night, I had to change rooms because of a noticeable mildew smell. The front desk handled it quickly and professionally, and I appreciated how easy they made the process. The room itself was comfortable overall, but there are several areas of the property that are showing their age. The rooftop pool has beautiful views and should be one of the hotel’s highlights, but unfortunately it’s let down by the condition of the furniture. The loungers and daybeds are extremely weathered and look overdue for replacement. On two days, the large daybeds had white covers over them, but on the other days they didn’t. Without the covers, the cushions had obvious stains and tears. It really takes away from what should be a premium rooftop experience. The pool towels were another disappointment. They weren’t readily available and had to be requested from staff each time. The towels themselves were thin, low quality, and nearly every one I received had visible stains. The room also includes a beach bag and what the hotel calls “beach towels,” along with a notice stating you’ll be charged around $30 to $35 if either is removed. The beach bag in both of my rooms had clearly been reused many times and looked well past its prime. The “beach towels” weren’t really beach towels at all. They were long, thin, scratchy towels that felt more like old rags than something you’d want to take to the beach. As for dining, breakfast at the restaurant was fine, nothing particularly memorable. The tiramisu, however, was excellent and definitely worth ordering. Overall, I’d rate this property 3 out of 5 stars. It has a great location, friendly staff, and a lot of potential, but it feels like management is falling behind on basic upkeep. The rooftop furniture, in particular, needs to be replaced. I know hotel responses often say they’ll pass feedback along to management, but I genuinely hope that happens here. I wasn’t the only guest commenting on the condition of the furniture. Several people I spoke with at the pool shared the same opinion, so this clearly isn’t an isolated observation.

Great price for the area, and super dog friendly! Iris, Anthony, and Rubens are an extremely competent and personable group of people. My wife and daughter enjoyed the rooftop pool and dining, and our dog Harry appreciated being treated like a celebrity. Thanks to all the staff who made our stay a success!

Firstly I would like to say a HUGE thank you so every member of staff at the Kimpton Shore Break because my family and I all had such a wonderful experience here. From the moment we arrived at 4am due to the storm we was greated by a lovely night staff man who was very helpful. Even the day time valet staff out the front were all so helpful with our luggage or opening the doors for us. Antony and the other ladies who alternatively looked after reception were all so very helpful and so welcoming to us. All the restaurant staff in Fuga were all so welcoming and the breakfast every day here were absolutely delicious!!! Thank you to each and everyone of you for always making time for our little boy too. Now for the pool area upstairs on the roof top which is called Escape- this was truly beautiful and so relaxing!!! Everything was perfect, nice fresh towels if needed, lovely and clean floors, pool and bar area. Very nice friendly staff who make the best cocktails especially the man with the hat (sorry I’ve forgotten names) but all the staff up here were great too! The background music throughout the day was the right level and good enjoyable music to listen too. Food was delicious here again and we often had lunch or dinner here. We loved to watch the sunset over the picturesque views and relax in the swimming pool until late. The cleaning staff each day cleaned our rooms immaculately and always gave us clean fresh towels and bottles of water every morning, they deserve a raise for doing such a wonderful job every day. The only negative and it is literally the only negative thing because this was not explained to us before booking or when we arrived that we would incur a $40 a day resort fee and $6 tax on top. We fully appreciate what these costs cover after we questioned this fee but it would have been nice to have known this before we booked this resort, as on top of a weekly booking price which we paid before hand, we then had a bill for a further $315 to pay as we left. We would like to say thank you once again to ALL your amazing staff here at the Kimpton Shorebreak Resort, Fuga and Escape, we look forward to returning one day to see you all again.

Nice location. Close to the beach. restaurant was okay it was nice but the whole vibe there was kind of lame honestly. Pool was beautiful. view there was nice. some people up there but Lame Vibe no DJ. Our third Sunday trying over there as we live fairly close. Place could use a Vibe check.. 😁

Great experience, amenities, location, and overall service! Nearby a few shops and restaurants, and less than 10 min walk to the beach. Decent rooms but nice pool, rooftop bar, free bikes, and they were nice to extend checkout. Highly recommend!

Wow, what an amazing weekend I cannot express enough how beautiful this hotel was and the service the rooms the food the breakfast, the lunch, the dinner everything was great and they have two pools downstairs for family upstairs for adults. It’s just incredible and beautiful views. Iris was amazing at the check-in. Ricardo was our waiter downstairs. We cannot express enough how much of a great time that we had came in from Jersey for the weekend. It’s just beautiful. It’s an oasis.

Had nothing but a 5 star experience at Kimpton. Stayed for 3 nights and had a great experience. Food, service and valet was consistently excellent. Truly enjoyed the social hour, fire pits and ping pong. Excellent gym at this facility. Looking forward to coming back for a leisure trip instead of on business. *no coffee maker in the room, but coffee bar in lobby opens early

We arrived around 11, check in was at 4pm but they were able to accommodate use to our room around 230pm. The receptionist was very nice and friendly. The valet are wonderful. The roof top bar and pool are beautiful. There is also a pool on 1sr floor right behind restaurant. The room was spacious for us 3 and we located on 1st floor. Its located literally 2 blocks from beach. Plenty of restaurants in area. We did bike ride which was available through hotel. There is a $47 daily valet parking fee and a $40 daily resort fee at this hotel. The only bad vibe we really got was from the lady working at the bar on the roof top she made us feel unwanted, so we only used pool 1x up there. All we did was use the pool, we werent loud or anything but she constantly kept staring at us and it was really uncomfortable. Made us not want to return up there.
