I wish I had read these reviews and not just the reviews on booking.com. Completely overplayed. The restaurant and breakfast were the only nice thing about our stay. The room was horrible. It has so much potential but just completely neglected. The images are not at all what the room truly is.

I booked a room for my CEO. I booked directly with Antrim Villa. In my email re the booking, I stated that the accommodation was for one person. Little did I know that the room consisted of a single bed pushed into a corner in a terrible room. My CEO approached reception and told her that this was unacceptable as there was not even a wardrobe in the room. After much deliberation, she was then moved to a room with a "Double bed" for which I am told, is double the cost. I had booked this spot because it was expensive and I was told it was top class. However, the staff were willing to give the double bed to my CEO for the same price as the single room. Unfortunately, the room was adjoining the kitchen so all the kitchen noise and the opening and closing of the freezer etc was a couple of steps away from this Double Room. My CEO then decided that she was moving out. Then the fun began. They refused to refund us as they evidently have a no refund policy. It is supposed to state this on the invoice but nothing stated on my invoice. Long story short, please do not go according to pictures on booking.com or on the website. I attach a photo of the room that was allocated to my CEO :(

My husband and I stayed three nights at Antrim Villa and always made sure to never use the safe and always lock our bags. However, on the last day, just when we left the room to go to Antrim House for breakfast, we left our bags unlocked and our money in two different suitcases. Only after checking out and going out to lunch did we realize we were missing $500.00 and R500.00. We were literally robbed! What surprised me was that after this, I read more reviews on Google and TriAdvisor with several reports from over three years ago, where many other guests had also been robbed and filed complaints with the police, who said there had been several repeated cases of robbery at this hotel! I do not recommend this hotel to anyone! Besides robbing us, they also made noise upstairs in the early hours of the morning and were unable to give us directions. Breakfast was wonderful, but it took more than 20 minutes to prepare, and one day we didn't have time to eat. But what really saddened me was the theft! I'm sure this thieving behavior is a disgrace to South Africa!

STAY AWAY, THEY'LL RUN THROUGH YOUR STUFF! We booked this hotel through a travel agency for our stay in Cape Town. With three children, we booked 7 beds (3 instead of 2 rooms) because they didn't know we were bringing children. This is unusual, considering there are many hotels/B&Bs where you need a special permit to accommodate children under 12. The day before we arrived, we read these reviews and saw that people were apparently greedy... so we didn't leave any valuables in our rooms and placed our bags somewhat tactfully... upon our return, we discovered that all our bags had been rummaged through (even the dirty laundry—our own fault, big deal!). We spoke to the reception about this and clearly expressed our displeasure. The receptionist on duty didn't respond very competently. It's a shame, their engagement is lacking. The next day, we again put our bags down and once again told the receptionist on duty not to let anyone rummage through our belongings. To our surprise, our warnings hadn't gone through, because our handbag (which, of course, contained nothing valuable) had been searched! Twice in a row! So, again, stay away and find something else! There were plenty of options in the city! It was our first and, of course, last time at this hotel!
