Welgelegen Boutique Hotel

Our every wish was anticipated. I have rarely experienced such friendly and attentive staff anywhere. It felt like being part of a family.

The accommodation is located on a safe, quiet, and idyllic street, yet close to the city center – perfect for exploring the city. The team is exceptionally friendly and helpful; the staff always check in to see what your plans are and if they can assist you. Breakfast was simply fantastic, served in a particularly beautiful and elegant setting. We will definitely stay here again on our next visits to the city and highly recommend this accommodation!

Welgelegen is an old Cape Dutch-style house. Unfortunately, the furnishings are quite worn. The air conditioning doesn't work properly, and the doors don't close correctly, which leads to loud rattling in the sometimes very strong winds in Cape Town. The staff is very attentive and dedicated; Melody and Prince are wonderful hosts who make the stay very personal, although the kitchen appliances aren't working perfectly either. For example, the espresso machine only works after several attempts.

Great Guest house, Staff very helpful,and friendly . My wife and I had marvelous holiday here, a great location. Breakfast was five stars, always homemade cake in the afternoon to help yourselves to. Uber was a great form of transport to use and only a eight minute drive to Table mountain. Thank you all Staff for making our first trip to South Africa a memorable one. Ian and Sandra.

We loved kicking off our honeymoon at Welgelegen! The hospitality was top notch. The morning breakfasts were such a delight! The location was incredible - a quick uber to all of the activities we wanted to do in Cape Town and walking distance from so many amazing cafes/restaurants. Looking forward to returning in the future!

Our whole experience was excellent from the warm and helpful staff to the excellently appointed rooms. The house is loaded with old world charm and located on a dead end within walking distance to Kloof street and ample great dining options. ‘Our Local’ among them. With views of Table Mountain and indoor and outdoor spaces to relax and get away we loved launching off on our adventures from here. Morning breakfast was excellent!!!!!

Memory, Thompson and Prince took excellent care of me and my family during our short stay in Cape Town. They were very helpful when it came to suggesting restaurants and activities, and even making reservations and booking taxis on our behalf! The additional special touches were also unexpected and appreciated - some South African sparkling wine for my parent's wedding anniversary. The rooms were comfortable and one even had beautiful views of Table Mountain. The breakfasts we had were delicious and filling - continental and cooked were available. If we were ever to return to Cape Town, it would be a pleasure to stay here again ☺️
