Absolutely stunning beach with amazing coastal views and a lively atmosphere. Perfect for swimming, walking, relaxing, and enjoying the beautiful Sydney scenery.
Bondi Beach is one of Australia’s most famous beaches, located in Sydney and known for its golden sand, strong surf, and vibrant coastal lifestyle. The name “Bondi” is believed to come from an Aboriginal word meaning “water breaking over rocks.” During the 19th century, European settlers developed the area, and Bondi Beach became a public reserve in 1882, allowing everyone to enjoy its natural beauty. In 1907, the Bondi Surf Bathers’ Life Saving Club was established, becoming one of the world’s first surf lifesaving clubs and helping make the beach safer for swimmers.
Misleading spot tag. Not actually the physical sculpture show but their work space
great
Bondi Beach is truly a magnificent spot! I was lucky enough to even spot a dolphin on the trail during my visit, which was an incredible bonus. The long, sandy stretch of beach is simply ideal for a family outing. We had such a wonderful time here!
Beautiful and clean beach, white sand and clear water. A beautiful stretch of beach with a promenade along it. Walking along the promenade is enjoyable and next to the promenade there are cafes, restaurants and shops. Line 333 from the city center comes directly. A good experience and recommended
Bondi Beach is an iconic coastal gem with golden sands, beautiful ocean views, and a vibrant atmosphere. The perfect place to relax, enjoy the scenery, and experience Sydney’s beach culture. Highly recommend!
Been here to Bondi Beach very good swimming also very nice place to visit its also a very sad place at the moment with the shooting there last year 😢
Bondi Beach is an iconic destination that absolutely lives up to the hype! The golden sand, clear blue water, and vibrant atmosphere make it the perfect place to relax or enjoy the surf. The Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk offers stunning ocean views and is a must-do while visiting. There are plenty of great cafés, restaurants, and shops nearby, making it easy to spend the whole day here. Whether you're swimming, surfing, or simply soaking up the sunshine, Bondi Beach is a fantastic experience. I highly recommend visiting—it's one of Australia's most beautiful and lively beaches!
Great place to walk, a lot of good restaurants and cafes around. Yes, people say it is overrated but I think still worth paying a visit!
It was a continuous walk from Coogee Beach, but it’s no secret that we took an Uber halfway because we had the kids with us~ I don't think the view can compare to Coogee Beach~ It has a more glamorous feel, with a feast of huge crowds and surfers^^
Around Bondi beach really lots of places to shop or to eat! It is very noisy, lots of people! After being in many many beaches all over the world I was wondering why people like this beach. For me too much cement for walking it does not feel cosy at all. Take manly beach it has trees it felt very nice even it is much smaller than Bondi beach. We were considering to live near Bondi beach I am happy we choose not too. So to come again to walk around - ok. But to live in the area no no! The beach itself did not impress me, sorry! But I still give 4 stars bc maybe if to take cement walking path away it would be not so bad.
Bondi Beach is spectacular — perfect for swimming, surfing, coastal walks, and enjoying the ocean breeze.
Bondi Beach is an iconic destination with golden sand, clear blue water, and a vibrant atmosphere. It's perfect for swimming, surfing, or simply relaxing by the ocean. The scenic Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk offers breathtaking views, and the nearby cafés and restaurants make it easy to spend an enjoyable day by the beach.

A nice beach to take a walk. I wished I could have spent more time. This is a great beach for all age groups.
The beach and the waves are a dream for surfers. Definitely check it out if you are in the area!
It was very crowded and I did not see all the appeal of it. There are so many better beaches near it and all around Sydney.
A must-see in Sydney. Bondi is incredible, with the surfers and swimmers even in winter. The large waves and beautiful coastal walk are excellent. Many small shops and cafes right across the street make it easy to spend a day relaxing here.
It was clear why people love Bondi beach, it is a stretch of relaxation on white sand. Even in winter, there were surfers and kayakers fully riding the waves and surf. It was just a beautiful, beautiful space. Near the beach after a long walk, it was easy to pick up some useful souvenirs.
Bondi Beach is one of those places that almost needs no introduction. It is not just a beach — it is a Sydney icon, an Australian landmark, and for many visitors, one of the places they dream of seeing long before they arrive in the country. I had seen Bondi many times in photos, videos and travel stories, but standing there in person is a completely different experience. The colour of the ocean is stunning — deep blue, turquoise and white foam all moving together under the wide Sydney sky. The beach has a very special energy: relaxed, sporty, international, sunny and full of life. Bondi is especially famous for surfing, and you can immediately see why. There are always people in the water trying to catch waves — beginners, experienced surfers, surf schools, locals and visitors from all over the world. Even if you do not surf yourself, it is fascinating just to watch the rhythm of the ocean and the surfers waiting for the right wave. The beach is also well known because of Bondi Rescue, and seeing the lifeguards and rescue equipment in real life adds to the feeling that this is not just any beach. It is a working, living, very active beach where safety is taken seriously. As always in Australia, it is important to swim between the red and yellow flags. Bondi is also a great place for walking, photography and simply enjoying the atmosphere. The sand is beautiful, the water is powerful, and the surrounding cliffs and buildings give the beach its unmistakable character. From here, you can also start the famous Bondi to Coogee coastal walk, which is one of the most scenic walks in Sydney. There are plenty of cafes, restaurants and places nearby where you can have coffee, breakfast, lunch or just sit and watch the beach life. It can be busy, especially on weekends and holidays, but that is also part of Bondi’s charm — people come here because it is famous, beautiful and full of energy. For me, Bondi Beach is not only about swimming or sunbathing. It is about the feeling of being in one of the most recognisable coastal places in the world. The waves, the surfers, the lifeguards, the golden sand, the ocean breeze — everything comes together and creates a very memorable Sydney experience. Definitely worth visiting at least once, especially if you want to feel the real spirit of Sydney’s beach culture.
Bondi Beach is just another beach in the wonderful city of Sydney. When we lived there in the early 1990s people would always say "Oh dear, never mind" when we said we lived in Bondi. However, much has changed over the years. It has become very much 'upmarket' with cafés and restaurants and prices to match. Don't get too fond of a restaurant though, they tend not to last very long, Although, saying that, several have stayed the course, namely Rice Pot Thai restaurant. You could stay in an AirBnb at Bondi but you will find the prices match the location, much cheaper to stay at another beach (yes, there are better beaches - try Bronte) for a more reasonable price and visit Bondi as and when. Transport is very good, a bus runs directly from Circular Quay frequently, but it does get crowded. Do we like Bondi Beach? Yes, the Bondi Pavilion has excellent events and a couple of good cafes. There are also public changing rooms and toilets. The sea wall is an art gallery in itself. Local artists use it to showcase their talents and the paintings change frequently. Best time to visit? Early morning or late afternoon. Avoid the weekends, it is crowded beyond belief.
Such a beautiful beach and a lovely promenade. The locals are so proud of their beach and to visit so close to the Bondi shootings was quite something but reassuring to see first hand that the people of Bondi have continued to enjoy life daily in such a beautiful town
The bondi iceberg club is great for a lap swim in an olympic size pool. I really enjoyed it, the city is also very nice for food and drink and there is the coastal walk you can take from there which is also incredible. A beach with a lot of options to enjoy, I recommand it for everybody.
We hiked the Coogee to Bondi trail, where we spent time swimming, in peace and security, as the traffic had already decreased. It is a large and very beautiful beach.
