Gay and gay-friendly hotels in Phnom Penh (checked October 2026)
Phnom Penh has one men-only gay hotel and a handful of smaller places run by or popular with gay travellers. Big international hotels have no trouble with same-sex couples. Some small local guesthouses are less relaxed about two men in one bed, so book a double ahead rather than asking at the desk.
Gay-run and gay-focused
Arthur & Paul · #27 Street 71, BKK1. Men only, around ten rooms above a spa with a pool, steam and jacuzzi that day visitors also use. Expedia lists it as catering to men.
The Birdcage Boutique · 21 Street 262. Small, gay-owned (per Nomadic Boys) and about a dozen rooms around a pool, between the Royal Palace and BKK1. Google rates it 4.3.
Sonitori Boutique Resort · #29 Street 71, BKK1. The former Rambutan Resort, long gay-owned, renamed after a 2026 takeover. It still has a pool, spa and bar; we couldn't confirm the new owners' focus. Google still lists it as Rambutan, rated 4.6.

Mainstream and used by gay travellers
Villa Langka · 14 Street 282, BKK1. A boutique hotel with a garden pool in the embassy district, long used by gay visitors. Google rates it 4.5.
Other options on our Phnom Penh hotels list include Jungle Addition (Street 244), Mettavary (Street 21) and Capri by Fraser (Street 228). They are ordinary hotels with good reviews, not gay hotels.
Where to stay
- Riverside / Daun Penh: walking distance to most gay bars, the Royal Palace and the National Museum. Noisier.
- BKK1: leafy and quieter, with cafés and the two Street 71 hotels; a short tuk-tuk ride to the bars.
Techo International Airport (KTI) is about 30 km south of the centre, so allow 40 to 60 minutes for the transfer. See the full gay Phnom Penh guide.
