この場所について Ueno Park

Ueno Park has been reported as a Tokyo cruising spot for decades. Accounts point to the hedged paths behind the concert hall near the station's Park exit after dark, with more activity in summer. We haven't verified current activity, and it may be very quiet or not happening at all. Same-sex activity is legal in Japan, but public indecency isn't, and discretion matters a lot here. Avoid public displays and never photograph anyone. Most of Tokyo's gay life happens indoors, in the Shinjuku Ni-chōme bars and the city's gay saunas.

Went to Tokyo in early April when the cherry blossoms were in full bloom, and visited Meguro River and Ueno Park for cherry blossom viewing. The flying pink cherry blossoms have a strong photo atmosphere. The crowds are very large on weekends. If you want to browse comfortably, it is recommended to arrive before 9 AM on a weekday for a quieter and more pleasant experience. I stay at each cherry blossom viewing spot for about 2-3 hours. Some parks are free to enter, while some areas require advance reservation. A very important reminder: Before you leave, you must continuously track the cherry blossom front forecast, as the blooming time varies every year and cannot be predicted with 100% certainty. Suitable for a leisurely stroll, but the weather is unpredictable, so don't have overly perfect expectations; it's very suitable for solo trips or small groups.

When I actually came here, I found there were so many things to see. There were art museums, museums, temples, shrines, and beautiful ponds, and I was able to experience Japanese culture and nature.

Ueno Zoo is a great place to visit, especially if you're travelling with children. It's a large zoo with plenty of animals to see, so I recommend arriving early if you want enough time to explore both sections of the park. There are also plenty of rest areas, making it easy to take breaks throughout the day. The only disappointment during our visit was that we couldn't see the giant pandas. If the pandas are one of the main reasons you're visiting, I'd suggest checking their availability before you go, as they may not always be on display. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and a fun family outing. If you're visiting Tokyo with kids, Ueno Zoo is definitely worth adding to your itinerary.

Nice park, just a little too much pavement for me personally. The pond is great. Also some good museum at the edge of the park.

It was a bit crowded, but I was able to stroll through a traditional Japanese park.

One of Tokyo’s big, lively green spaces — the kind of place where you can wander for a long time without ever running out of things to look at. The wide paths, ponds, and plenty of shade make it an easy place to slow down, especially on a hot day. It’s also a fantastic spot for Pokémon GO, with constant spawns, gyms, and enough players around that raids actually fill. This isn’t a quiet park, but that’s part of the appeal. You get families picnicking, tourists moving between museums, school groups in formation, and the general hum of people enjoying the space. Cherry blossom season is famously packed, but even on a normal day it has that energetic, slightly chaotic charm that feels very “Ueno.” If you’re already in the area, it’s a great place to take a break, people‑watch, and enjoy a mix of nature, noise, and nonstop Pokémon GO activity.

I didn't know there was the Philippine EXPO but it was a nice surprise in this large park, a nice museum to visit as well.

Ueno Park was a spacious and pleasant park. It would have been even better if the weather had been nicer, but I still had a great time. It seems like a great place to buy a bento or some snacks and enjoy them in the park!

Impressive park in that it has many museums and a zoo in it. And crowded during sakura season. Came here for the Van gogh exhibit and it was packed

A huge and very pleasant park in the heart of Tokyo, perfect for taking a break from the hustle and bustle of the city. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, the wide avenues, the green spaces, and the impressive number of things to discover nearby: temples, shrines, museums, and ponds. You can easily spend several hours strolling around without really noticing the time passing. A lively yet relaxing place that offers another side of Tokyo, and one that I highly recommend during a stay in the capital.

The park is laden with ginkgo trees, and the old trees are all very well maintained.

We arrived on a rainy day, which spoiled the experience a bit, but it was beautiful and it looks like it will be even more beautiful when the lotus flowers bloom.

It's very close to Ueno Station, and I could easily spend the whole day walking around the museums, zoo, and Shinobazu Pond. It was quite crowded on weekends, and a little too noisy for me as I was hoping for a quieter experience, but I liked the atmosphere where greenery and history were in harmony.

I'm a member of the National Museum of Nature and Science Friends Association and visit about once a month. I usually go on weekdays, but it's always crowded. There are lots of foreigners too. Besides people, one of the attractions is being able to see various flowers and plants that change with the seasons. If the weather is nice, I enjoy having my lunch in the park.🍴🙏

Beautiful park! Was so lovely to walk through during my last day in Tokyo. Everything is very well maintained and of course very clean! I even used the public toilets in the park and they were a little bit better than what you would expect for public park restrooms!
