Regnbuepladsen (Rainbow Square) ⚠ Unverified Own this place?

Regnbuepladsen, Rainbow Square, is the small paved square on the side of Copenhagen City Hall, between Lavendelstræde and Vester Voldgade. The city renamed it in 2014 as a nod to equal rights, and a rainbow flag flies there all year. It's a fitting spot in the country that introduced registered partnerships in 1989, the first in the world. There isn't much to do here beyond looking. You get the flag, some trees and a few cafés around the edges, with the City Hall tower right above. Allow a couple of minutes on a walk between Rådhuspladsen, Strøget and the Latin Quarter. Copenhagen Pride holds its main civic events on the big square next door.
