Danhostel Odense City

We visited Danhostel in connection with a camp school, and unfortunately the stay did not meet the expectations. The cleaning standard was unsatisfactory. A used condom was found under a bed, and there were visible stains on mattresses, dynas and floors. Several doors did not work properly. Some went back locked, others couldn't be closed. In addition, there were rooms where the windows could not be closed, making the rooms cold. The problem was notified to staff but was not corrected during the stay. The dinner was of very poor quality. Two out of three nights the food was not edible. We got chicken that didn’t seem to go through, we found hair in the food, excessive salting and a general smell of old food. The breakfast cost DKK 75 per person, but consisted mainly of yogurt and bright bread, which was insufficient to satisfy the students and teachers. The staff, especially the host, often appeared rude and a little rejecting. This gave the impression that inquiries were inconvenient. The students also noticed that the host locked himself into the rooms without knocking first, which was uncomfortable. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend Danhostel for campers or other groups. The only positive thing about the place was the location, which was really good.

Don't come to this hostel!! The shower is filled with lime! The vineyards cannot be closed so there is a lot of noise at night! Staff was uncomfortable and angry! Dog hair in our food! Spot on the ladder! The beds were noisy when you wait! All in all a really bad experience at the fan hostel Odense city! DON'T COME TO THE HOTEL!

I am writing this review on behalf of my parents who stayed at this hotel due to a fire in their own home. I can start by saying that my parents at first sight were greeted by a wildly dirty and definitely nasty room. There were used towels hanging, the walls were dirty, the carpets were nasty and with stains, the bathroom was caly and there were black stains, the trash can wasn't emptied, and the bed wasn't even cleaned upon arrival. It was clear that the room was not properly cleaned – and it was directly unhygienic and uncomfortable to enter the room. But the worst was the behavior of the staff. My parents were accused of smoking in the room. They were charged a fine of DKK 1,500. My parents are smokers, but respect hotel rules in all respects. They don't even smoke inside their own home. In addition to this, the staff even made a gross and unfounded claim that their stay was "located" due to the fire, which they claim was due to smoking my parents. It is a serious accusation and completely unacceptable both factually and ethically. Being spoken to in that tone and being greeted with such a treatment as a paying guest is completely unprofessional. The staff were neither welcoming nor solution-oriented – on the contrary, they were directly disrespectful in their claims. Danhostel Odense City is not only unhygienic – it is also a place where you as a guest risk being treated badly and unfairly. As we have read from previous reviews, my parents are not the first to be accused of something they have not done. We will never come back, and I would advise everyone to put their legs there.

it was a really bad experience the pillows and the duvets were not washed there were spots on many of them there were really many rules the beds were destroyed it was fixed with gaffatape light animal not the water cane sprayed out over it all it is found breaking and tis under the mattresses there was clamp plaster the screws had fallen off the beds so many were had numbers to sleep on the floor the bed shaken and those who inherited it became angry at us so did not come

My bed cracked so hard I woke up from it. There was tape on to keep the bed together. There were loose screws and some places were missing screws (in the bed stand). There wasn't clean some places. Dust, spindle tissue, dirty walls etc. The staff was not welcoming. They were very strict. Shagged out and downplayed the guests. The food did not taste good and was not arranged nicely. My visit to Odense was good, but it all turned into a bad experience, because of the stay at this hostel. It really wasn't good and I didn't feel well.

Hygiene: Chewing rubber is everywhere in the rooms, and the rooms should have a general review of the windows, the condition of the mattresses and tightening the metal beds so they do not noise. Rum 110+111: Blood and tear on some of the mattresses and black dots that could look like sponge or blood. Bed horses were put together with gaffatape. Beds trembled and cracked when you turned in the bed, but you could open the windows. Bathroom in good size and in acceptable condition. 202. The light in the room often did not work. The shower head was clamped. 207: Carpet floor had fallen off, and missing frame for shower cabin. Black spot on bed. 210: Spots on the walls. Sockets don't work. 208: Brown spots on the duvets where it smelled. 205: The outlet hangs out of the wall, the cable holder hangs in the air and the water lock in the room needs to be cleaned as the water did not run out. 207, 208, 209, 202, 210: The windows couldn't close. The packages were nice and clean, which added 300kr to the room price. The double rooms were beyond this nice. Service: The staff were not smiling, lacking consideration and lacking educational sense. You could have asked the teachers about their approach to the students if they had negative experiences with previous schools. The students saw an old lady fighting with her suitcase up the stairs, which was seen by staff, in place to help her. The card machine and the doors did not always work, so they had to be rolled up with powerful shoulder pushes, which made of several students were trapped outside and inside the rooms and created noise at a very listening hotel. The staff were considered by the students as strict and shouted by the students with hard language by the students. Location: Location comes with a Award. And is it worth it? Very noisy because of the city's alcoholics, who held a daily party, in addition to pushing trains, light rail RÅBE facility which made it impossible to have windows open, which is problematic with 4 pers. in a room (lack of air). Only one bowl per pers. Will not change subsequent food orders despite allergens. (poor service.) Lack of fruit and vegetables for breakfast, but otherwise good variety. Lack of drinks for dinner. Just water. There is a buffet on the website for a-food. It's not! Just one right. Lack of games in the basement. Good with TV in the common room. Lack of space for more than 40 people as well as lodging in the basement. Fussball needs inspection. The tables were about to break and need to be repaired. It is a hostel that lives by new customers who stay during their stay, because it is acceptable, but we will not re-visit this DanHostel. It is the worst of the 4 (very good) we have already been on. 2 stars.

Very, very dirty, nasty and smells. Had to change room when the first smell of sweat. The 2nd room is like the pictures. Do not expect luxury at a hostel, but as a minimum that the room is clean. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Blood on bed sheets. The upper half of the bed edge is not there. Stopped drain at first and afterwards the sink was leaking. In the shower head, there were 8 holes from which water came out, while there was also fungus in the shower head Would not recommend it for families with children it gets 1/5 stars

Having read the different reviews, I have to agree with many of them - this hostel is quite poor. Beds are ok (but small), and room was also ok, but budget. Location is very central, but very noisy as well, due to all the train announcements and the noise from the trains 24/7. Escalator was old and very slow (and couldn´t take me from 3rd floor to ground floor, but only to the 1st floor and THEN to the ground floor). Linen pays extra, which is also a negative thing. Early morning I needed to get something in my car, and when I got back the app (neither my key card) could open the front door, so had to call the emergency line to get back in. Find a nice Airbnb instead.

Unfortunately, I want to share my disappointment with my recent stay at Danhostel Odense City. On arrival we paid extra for linen and bedding which were unfortunately stained with blood and other unidentified substances. The beds creaked so much that it was impossible to get a restful night's sleep. Even more frustrating was the accusation that we destroyed a sofa without any evidence. The staff were not welcoming and the whole experience left a lot to be desired. I hope that my concerns can be addressed and improvements can be implemented so that other guests avoid similar inconveniences. The fine we get because of the sofa has a value of DKK 1500 and I recommend everyone to stay away
