Le 1932 Hotel & Spa Cap d'Antibes is an MGallery (Accor) hotel at 5 Avenue Saramartel, between Juan-les-Pins and Cap d'Antibes. It was formerly Hôtel Le Grand Pavois and was reworked in an Art Deco style, with a spa and a pool. It is listed in the Michelin Guide. €670/night for a room that smells like a sewer! This hotel promises luxury; in reality it smells like a public toilet. The smell followed us from the lobby (poorly masked with potpourri and a giant bouquet of lilies) into the elevator and straight into our room. Our shower drain backed up and FLOODED the stall, bringing debris up with it — disgusting. The sewage odor pours through the AC vents and permeates the entire room and bathroom. It was so nauseating we couldn’t sleep. Opening the windows to let the room air out didn’t do much. Avoid room 314 at all costs, although based on other reviews, many rooms have this issue. And the “luxury” hotel? Stained hallway carpet, peeling paint, damaged bathroom walls, and a toilet paper holder literally falling off the wall exposing bare paint underneath. This hotel is styled for Instagram and nothing else — in person it is neglected and falling apart. We paid for a partial sea view room. A small view of the sea was possible from the balcony of you crane your neck. I complained to the front desk about the sewer odor in our room and asked for a partial refund. The agent completely ignored my complaint, didn’t ask a single question, didn’t offer to call a manager, didn’t apologize — I was persistent in expressing our experience and eventually he just said he’d “make a note.” That’s it. Like he was hoping I’d get tired and walk away. I paid 670 EUROS for that treatment. This is not a one-time fluke — other reviews describe this exact same sewage smell going back YEARS. The hotel knows and does nothing. Beautiful location, completely ripped off on price. Never again.

I genuinely wish I could give this hotel more than five stars. We arrived very late (around midnight) and the gentleman who checked us in was so warm, welcoming, and professional that you would never have guessed it was the middle of the night. That level of hospitality set the tone for the rest of our stay. The property itself is beautiful. The lobby was spotless, the facilities were excellent, and the rooms exceeded our expectations. Everything felt thoughtfully designed and well maintained. We especially appreciated the hotel's eco-friendly towel and bedding refresh policies and how clearly those options were communicated to guests. One small touch that stood out was that housekeeping left two complimentary bottles of water each time our room was serviced. After long (HOT!) days of sightseeing, that was always appreciated. The showers deserve a special mention—they were genuinely incredible and felt luxurious after spending all day exploring the French Riviera. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and quiet, and the restaurants and bar areas were consistently clean and inviting. What truly made this hotel exceptional, however, was the staff. Every employee we interacted with was friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to help. One evening, we spontaneously decided we wanted to have dinner in Cannes and asked the concierge for recommendations. Not only did they suggest an excellent restaurant, but they also explained several transportation options and helped us choose the safest and most convenient way to get there. It ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. This hotel combines beautiful facilities with genuinely outstanding service. We absolutely loved our stay and would not hesitate to return the next time we're in Antibes.

The restaurant is truly fabulous on its rooftop terrace. An exceptional spot in Juan! The food is excellent and the service is impeccable. Yesterday I went there for a business event and everything was also great. Special mention to our server Anthony and his colleagues who did their best to satisfy our group. Have a wonderful summer! ;)
