Roses is a small, cheap gay bar on Oranienstraße in Kreuzberg, known for its interior: pink fur on the walls and ceiling, red light and decades of piled-up kitsch. The crowd is mixed queer, local and tourist, and the place gets packed shoulder to shoulder late on weekends. It opens at 22:00 every night and runs until around 05:00, so most people arrive after midnight, often between other Kreuzberg bars. Drinks are basic and inexpensive. The Google rating is low because the service is famously brisk. Come for the room and the late crowd, not for cocktails or table service.

The way Roses has turned out is sad. It used to be one of the few queer bars in Berlin where you could actually have a good time. It no longer deserves that title. It's become a place for predatory men and straight people to feel a bit more "open-minded." Don't get me wrong. Sexuality shouldn't be a barrier to entry. But when queer people avoid the bar because it no longer feels "safe" and they're looked at like animals in a zoo, something's wrong. To me, that's just pinkwashing. Please call yourselves something else and stop dragging our community through the mud! This is all about profit.

Very cool place, red fluffy walls, unique bright interior, bright and diverse audience, friendly staff. Definitely visit to delve into Berlin's nightlife Photos and videos are prohibited, so pictures only from the restroom
