Rheinelbe Park

Rheinelbe in Gelsenkirchen-Ueckendorf is a former colliery site that has been turned into woodland with land art, including the Himmelstreppe sculpture on the spoil heap. German cruising guides list parts of the woods as a gay men's cruising area. Activity is outdoors and seasonal, and it's busiest on warm evenings along the quieter wooded paths. By day this is a well-used public park with walkers, families and dog owners, so keep it discreet and away from the main paths.
