One enters the Hotel Alegro in Murcia with the reasonable expectation that four stars will sustain a stay, and indeed the stonework and furnishings fulfill their decorative role admirably; but hope, that fragile creature that doesn't feed on plaster or varnish, perishes from starvation upon crossing the restaurant's threshold. There, one discovers the desolate paradox of thirty-six souls condemned to eternal waiting before the solitary presence of a single employee, overwhelmed and tragic in her torment, to whom management seems to have entrusted the impossible task of multiplying time and loaves of bread. After two hours of vigil and contemplation of the empty plate, the traveler understands that dignity and hunger demand a flight to the nearest supermarket to obtain what the hotel denies; a profoundly disappointing experience that transforms the trip into penance and demonstrates that it is useless to adorn a building with finery when the basic art of welcoming one's neighbor has been emptied from within.

Good hotel. Understated, unpretentious, but with spacious and modern rooms.

Disappointing. For a four-star hotel, it leaves much to be desired. Regarding the staff, I have nothing negative to say, but nothing particularly positive either. They were polite, nothing more. As for the location, I already knew where the hotel was when I made the reservation, so it's an aspect that everyone considers when choosing a hotel. It's located just under 2 km from the city center, where the restaurants and other establishments are concentrated. The hotel has parking, although, in my opinion, it's not essential, as it's possible to park nearby. What really disappointed me was the state of the facilities. The hallway leading to the rooms was in a deplorable state: broken and poorly finished parquet flooring in several places, and baseboards that were deteriorated and warped from damp. All of this clearly indicates a lack of maintenance. The room also fell short of expectations. Upon entering, there was an unpleasant musty and damp smell. The furniture was old and gave a sense of neglect unbecoming of a four-star establishment, where one would expect more care and attention to detail. The worst, without a doubt, was a very dirty, worn, and scuffed armchair, whose condition was so unpleasant that it was uninviting. The minibar, which was actually an old refrigerator, was dirty and empty, something that also detracts from the good impression a hotel of this category should offer. The bathroom was another negative point. The shower tray seemed poorly installed, as water leaked and pooled on the floor. To make matters worse, the drain didn't work properly, which exacerbated the problem. Furthermore, details and equipment that one would expect in a four-star hotel, such as a magnifying mirror, were missing. The only redeeming feature was the bed, which was comfortable. In short, a hotel that doesn't live up to its advertised four-star rating, mainly due to poor maintenance, cleanliness, and the overall condition of its facilities. It's a shame, because with proper maintenance and more attention to detail, the experience could be very different. I don't think I'll be back, nor can I recommend it.

A simple and functional hotel. It has private parking (for a fee) and there's a shopping center nearby. It's about a 15-minute walk from the bullring (depending on your pace). The family room has two bathrooms and two bedrooms.
