Quezon City has the loudest gay nightlife in Metro Manila, but its sauna scene is quieter than it used to be. The city's last full gay bathhouse, F Club, was shut by City Hall in November 2024. What's left, and what you'll find under "saunas" here, are men's wellness spas: a steam room, a dry sauna, lockers, sometimes a jacuzzi or a pool, and massage at the centre of everything. Some are social and a little cruisy; all of them are massage businesses first. Most sit on the same few blocks of Tomas Morato and Timog as the drag bars, so a soak and a massage before a night at Rampa is very doable. One thing to check first: Alpha, the spa closest to a gay sauna, reportedly relaunched in 2026, so look at its X account for which facilities are running. Here's what each one is really like.
Legal in one line: sex between men is legal in the Philippines, and Quezon City's 2014 Gender-Fair Ordinance bans discrimination based on sexual orientation, so you won't be turned away for being gay. But there's no national anti-discrimination law or same-sex marriage, and paid sex is illegal, which matters in a massage-spa scene (see the warning below).
What a QC "gay sauna" actually is
Forget the European bathhouse with a darkroom and a maze. In Quezon City you pay at the desk, get a locker key, towel and slippers, and use the wet area (steam, dry sauna, showers and, in the better places, a jacuzzi) for as long as you like. Most guests come for a massage package, and many places also let you pay for the facilities only; ask at the desk, because prices are rarely published. Plan on 2 to 4 hours. The wet area and lounge are where men chat and look; the massage rooms are for massage. Some spas are all-male, others have female clients and therapists too.
About "extra service". Some therapists will hint at, or offer, more than a massage. Paid sex is not a legal service in the Philippines, Quezon City police regularly raid spas offering "extra service", and the anti-trafficking law can be used against customers as well as owners. Book a massage as a massage, agree the length and price before you start (several reviews complain about 80-minute sessions ending at 50), and politely decline anything else. If a session is cut short, raise it at the desk before you pay.
Tomas Morato & Timog: the spa strip
Alpha Massage and Wellness · 111 Scout Lozano St, corner Tomas Morato Ave
The closest thing QC has to a gay sauna. It's all-male, with a heated pool, a jacuzzi pool, a steam room, a dry sauna, a group ("varsity") shower, spacious lockers and a lounge with a bar, and it has run weekend parties. The crowd is mostly late 20s and 30s. It's listed as open from 2 p.m. to 2 a.m., and until 4 a.m. Friday to Sunday. Visitors report that Alpha relaunched in 2026: one found it renovated and more premium, another found no pool or labyrinth afterwards, so check its X/Twitter account (@massage_alpha) for what's running and for promo discounts. A sister branch, Alpha South EDSA, operates in Pasay. Lose your locker key and you'll pay ₱500. One more thing from the reviews: a guest reported being touched and followed after saying no. "No" should be enough here as anywhere; if it isn't, tell the desk.
New-York Spa · 68 Timog Ave
A long-running Timog spa with the fullest wet area on the strip: dry sauna (recently upgraded with a one-way glass wall), steam room, a jacuzzi the staff will reheat if you ask, lockers and an outdoor terrace. The therapists get consistent praise; the facilities get mixed reviews, with complaints in 2026 about cleanliness and weak heat in the sauna. Go for a good massage and a soak, and keep your expectations for the décor modest. Hours and prices are on its Facebook page.
Amistad Spa Wellness Center · MJB Building, 220 Tomas Morato Ave, corner Dr. Lazcano St
An old-school spa with a steam room, private showers, cabins and a lounge, and a reputation for strong, real massage from both male and female therapists. Regulars say the building is ageing and the prices are higher than its neighbours. Their advice: book ahead, ask for an experienced therapist and give yourself three hours.
E. Rodriguez and the north
Infinity Spa · 3F TSL Building, 59 E. Rodriguez Sr. Ave & Infinity Spa Fairview · 31 Pontiac St
A two-branch chain (infinityspa.ph) with steam, dry sauna, lockers, a lounge, free drinks and snacks, and towels and slippers included. The E. Rodriguez branch is the busier one, especially on weekends. Fairview is compact, with a narrow, dim wet area, and has closed around 1 a.m. Reviews praise individual therapists and the location, but several complain about short sessions, so confirm the length when you book.
Further out and basic
- Seven Dragons Wellness Spa, 59 Commonwealth Ave, Novaliches: a small family-run spa with steam, dry sauna and well-rated massage, but old facilities. Worth it only if you're staying up north; from Timog it can be an hour in traffic.
- D'Mansion, 105 Ligaya St, Plainview, Mandaluyong: the closest, with a dry sauna, cinema, maze, bar, massage, and transient rooms you can rent for the night. Listed hours are 18:00–02:00 Monday to Thursday, to 03:00 on Friday and Saturday, and 15:00–24:00 on Sunday.
- Club Bath Philippines, 2456 FB Harrison Blvd, Pasay: open since 1977 and calling itself the oldest gay bathhouse in Asia, with three floors, a steam room, gym, cabins and a darkroom. It's busiest on weeknights after 7 p.m. and with an older crowd. Check its website (clubbath.com.ph) for whether weekend walk-ins are accepted.
- Getting there: the Morato–Timog spas are a short walk from MRT-3 GMA-Kamuning and Quezon Avenue stations. Otherwise use Grab, or the motorbike-taxi apps Angkas, JoyRide and Move It, which beat EDSA traffic.
- Best times: weekday afternoons are quiet and good for a long soak; Friday and Saturday evenings are the social hours, when the steam rooms fill up.
- Money: bring cash in small notes. Tipping your therapist is expected; some will push for it, but the amount is up to you.
- Pair it with a night out: Alpha, Amistad and New-York Spa are minutes from the Timog bars and from Rampa Drag Club, which moved in 2025 to 27-B Tomas Morato Avenue Extension, South Triangle, and was still staging drag nights in 2026. A soak and a massage at New-York Spa on Timog, then a late show at Rampa, makes an easy QC night; its shows run into the early hours.
- Bringing someone back: many hotels charge a "joiner fee" or refuse unregistered guests. Ask before booking, or see GayOut's gay-friendly hotels in Quezon City.
Gone, but still Googled: F Club / Fahrenheit (1204 E. Rodriguez Sr. Ave), QC's last full gay bathhouse, with a jacuzzi, steam room, cabins, karaoke and shows, was ordered closed by the city in November 2024 after it was named in six mpox cases and, according to City Hall, refused to help contact tracers. A new business at the same address, F.I.N.E Wellness bar and F.I.N.E spa, was blocked from opening. City Spa (31 Don A. Roces Ave) is still listed by Travel Gay as temporarily closed, with no reopening date.
Want a real bathhouse? Cross town
If what you want is a maze, cabins and a darkroom, you'll have to leave QC. Both are members-only, with membership sold at the door; bring ID.

Practical tips
Health
F Club closed over mpox, and the lesson still applies: if you have a new rash or sores, skip the spa and see a doctor. Quezon City runs free evening sundown clinics for HIV and STI testing, including Klinika Bernardo, the city's clinic for men who have sex with men. LoveYourself offers free HIV testing, PrEP and PEP across Metro Manila. If a condom breaks, PEP must start within 72 hours.
Words worth knowing: masahista (masseur), hilot (traditional Filipino massage), pa-massage ("I'd like a massage"), "ES" (short for "extra service"; you now know to say no), and beki or bading (friendly everyday words for a gay man).

Frequently asked questions
Is there a gay bathhouse in Quezon City?
Not any more: the last full gay bathhouse, F Club, was shut in November 2024. Today QC has men's wellness spas built around massage, such as Alpha, New-York Spa, Amistad and Infinity.
Which Quezon City spa is closest to a gay sauna?
Alpha Massage and Wellness, an all-male spa off Tomas Morato Avenue with steam, dry sauna and a bar. It reportedly relaunched in 2026, so check its X account for which facilities are running.
Is 'extra service' at massage spas legal in the Philippines?
No. Paying for sex is illegal in the Philippines, QC police raid spas suspected of offering it, and customers can also face the anti-trafficking law. Agree the massage length and price up front and say no to anything else.
Why did F Club in Quezon City close?
City Hall shut it in November 2024 after it was linked to six mpox cases and, the city said, failed to cooperate with contact tracing. A successor business at the same address, F.I.N.E, was also refused permission to open.
Where is the nearest real gay bathhouse to Quezon City?
D'Mansion in Mandaluyong is the nearest, and Club Bath Philippines in Pasay is the other option. Both sell membership at the door, so bring ID.
