Tebas Bar e Café

Tebas Bar e Café is a mixed bar in an old casarão on Rua do Ribeirão, in the Centro Histórico. It isn't a gay bar, but it's one of the main places for queer parties in the old town. It hosts Balacobaco, a monthly Sunday afternoon party for an LGBTQIAPN+ crowd with samba, axé and Brazilian pop, which O Imparcial covered in August 2025. A 2026 university study of the local queer scene also mentions ballroom nights and editions of Bailão da Trava, a trans and travesti party. On other nights the line-up is reggae, rock and samba for a general crowd.
