Gay saunas in Caracas: the honest 2026 guide
Caracas has two men's saunas, both basic and open by day. They can't compare to the big saunas of Bogotá or Buenos Aires. We checked them in October 2026 against Google reviews, QList, and Spartacus. Given Venezuela's high-risk status, it's best to take a car booked through your hotel or a ride app both ways, and carry a copy of your passport.
Zeus Steam's House (Baños Turcos Suecos) · Calle Villaflor, Sabana Grande
This gay men's steam bath is in a basement on Calle Villaflor, a few doors from La Fragata VIP+. Spartacus and QList list it under its registered name, Baños Turcos Suecos C.A., and mention a darkroom. Google reviewers praised the large pool and lockers, but said only one small steam room was working, and the entry fee felt steep - it's charged at the euro rate. Google rates it 4.2 from about 210 reviews. You can call them at +58 212 761 4240.
Puma Gym Spa · near La Candelaria
Puma Gym Spa is a men-only sauna in central Caracas, popular with bears and older men. It's listed on QList, with entry at about $10. Reviewers describe lockers, four steam rooms, and a rest area. Listed hours are 11:00 to 21:00 daily. Call +58 212 578 0570 before you go, since there's no website or Instagram.
Know the risk
Being gay is legal in Venezuela, but police can still use public-decency charges against men in saunas. There was a raid on the Avalon spa in Valencia in July 2023, and 33 men were detained. Charges against 30 were later dropped. In May 2026, police raided a sauna in Barquisimeto, and several officers were arrested for extortion. If police show up, stay calm, don't pay anyone off on the spot, and call your embassy.
Not gay saunas
Saunas Yosika and Tecnisaunas come up in "gay sauna Caracas" searches, but they're just companies that build and repair saunas. Old guides list saunas on Avenida Casanova that have long since closed.
