Melrose Gateway Arch

The Melrose Gateway Arch spans 7th Avenue at Glenrosa Avenue and marks the entrance to the Melrose District in central Phoenix. It's a neighborhood gateway sign rather than an LGBTQ+ memorial. The district along 7th Avenue is known for vintage shops, diners and the city's highest concentration of gay bars, so the arch has become a common reference point and photo stop for queer visitors. There's nothing to visit apart from the arch itself. Use it as a landmark for the 7th Avenue strip, where several gay bars are within a short drive or a long walk. Phoenix heat is serious from May to September, so do any walking after dark.
