What can I say about Snowlines that doesn't sound like I'm just gushing about our wonderful stay here? Maybe it was the time of year (Early March), there weren't too many people about so that was great for us personally, however in general the owners Stephen and Sarasa go above and beyond for their guests. We were made to feel very welcome, picked up from the bus station, given a walking tour of the facilities, shuttle to ski fields provided in the mornings, breakfast buffet was always tasty, they had nightly meal options to opt into and if not they had plenty to say about local restaurants and could even facilitate a booking for you. The room we stayed in was the Japanese style, so we had separate futon mattresses we pushed together. The room was sufficient for space, and there was a toilet and sink also. The bathroom was separate for showering (the on-site onsen was where we went daily). We didn't use the laundry facilities, but they were available. The lodge boasts large common areas, multiple comfortable seating spaces, and a bar that is open every night until 11 pm (if you can stay up that late). The other staff were all very polite and attentive also. The location was fantastic. We did not have a car, utilising the local buses that run in the area from the ski resorts was simple and Stephen even makes sure you know how to get home from every place he drops you off from of a morning. It is a very shirt walk to Echoland where other accomodations, restaurants and some ski retail shops are. There's a bottle ship at the end of the road, too. They just ask that you don't byo at the lodge.

Our stay at Snow Lines Lodge in Hakuba was nothing short of exceptional! Nestled in the breathtaking landscapes of Hakuba, this lodge offers a cozy and welcoming atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at home. The traditional Japanese dinners prepared on-site including The Sukiyaki and Nabe were not only delicious but also incredibly nourishing, offering a perfect end to a day of adventure in the snow. Each meal was prepared with care, showcasing the rich culinary traditions of Japan and using fresh, local ingredients that highlighted the region's flavors. Lodge staff were fantastic, providing insider tips on the mountains based on condition, and friendly hospitality. Other guests that were in the lodge were easy to get along with and ran into some old friends, Small world! I highly recommend Snow Lines Lodge to anyone looking for a blend of comfort, culture, and culinary excellence in Hakuba. A 5-star experience all around!

The best stay I have had in Hakuba by far. Steve and Sarasa really went the extra mile to ensure our stay was amazing. All of the lodge staff were friendly and beaming with good vibes. Can’t recommend enough and looking forward to visiting again.

This is an exceptional lodge. Stephen and Sarasa have created really comfortable accommodation with great facilities and bar and wrapped it in a warm, welcoming, family friendly atmosphere. We had the best stay at Snowlines Lodge Hakuba. Right from the outset the communication with Stephen in the lead up was exceptional. Then Stephen, Sarasa and their team of staff at the lodge did an exceptional job to ensure our stay was seamless and so enjoyable. Some highlights - 1. Stephen collected us from Hakuba station and introduced us to the town and the lodge so we felt great about everything right away. The team were then available any time we had questions and we were able to all share knowledge with other guests so all the travel navigation aspects were a breeze. 2. There is a beautiful onsen amazing for relaxing after skiing, warm fireplaces and cozy communal lounge rooms as well as an extensive in house bar for apres or evening drinks. We enjoyed chatting to families and other couples staying at the lodge. 3. A lovely breakfast is included, there’s a large drying room to warm up all of your ski stuff and then you jump on Stephen’s shuttle bus to efficiently hit the slopes in the morning - there is easy access to all the good mountains and you can try different ones on different days. We didn’t need to rent things but the lodge assisted some other families with rentals drop off and pick up to the lodge. 4. Evenings spent in Echoland a short walk away meant that we had some exceptional meals in Hakuba - Stephen and Sarasa assisted us with bookings and recommendations for all the best spots. We enjoyed every meal! The lodge also assisted to arrange transport (which is not that easy to come by) when we had booked a restaurant that was in another area of Hakuba for dinner. A fantastic stay in Hakuba with many thanks to Snowlines Lodge who went above and beyond to assist us to have the best holiday. Thank you Snowlines!

It was a truly wonderful place. First of all, the very friendly, kind, and cheerful staff make this lodge a special place. The location is superb, the rooms are spacious and clean, and yet they have the atmosphere of a traditional Japanese house, creating a unique sense of comfort as if you were staying at a close relative's house. It's a place I would like to stay at again and again.

I booked the Womatenashi-Japanese cooking class at Snowlines Lodge and I was blown away. Sarasa was extremely generous and welcoming. The quality of the class and the food exceeded my expectations and I had a wonderful experience. I would absolutely attend again and would recommend this private class to any friends visiting Hakuba in the future!

Couldn’t ask for anything more! Location 10/10, value 10/10, friendly, helpful staff 11/10. Rooms were big, lodge had great vibes, staff went above & beyond to help. Central to multiple resorts. 100% we’ll be back! Thanks guys 🤙

There are few places I've stayed at during my travels that I'll remember forever. This is definitely one of them. I had an absolutely amazing stay at Snowlines Lodge for a week. Stephen, Sarasa-san and their team all go above and beyond to help any inquiries and questions guests have. They really made me feel at home during the entire stayーespecially as a solo visitor, it was so nice to have a lot of great chats with them. Nothing better than their onsen/hot spring within the lodge after all day at the ski resorts. Bed is very comfortable and you get a great view of the snow covered mountains from your room. High speed wifi and good breakfast included (boiled eggs, cereals, fruits, etc). Pick-ups and drop-offs were super helpful too. I'll definitely stay at Snowlines Lodge again next time I'm back in Hakuba! Thank you for everything 😊

Excellent location, comfortable and cozy for a snowy stay in Hakuba. The lodge is very well situated, easy access to several of the ski stations, only 800m from the Nakiyama side of Happo-One. What makes it better than most however is the service and atmosphere created by Sarasa & Stephen, great hosts with a really comfortable, convenient and friendly place ! I've taken advantage of their great hospitality for many seasons now and it feels like coming home for the winter holidays now !

A great place to stay. As you enter, you have a place to store your gear underground. Then on the 1st floor they have rec room, bar, and eating area. Then you go further and you have laundry area and Onsen for men and women. Up stairs is the area for your rooms. The owner will also pick you up at Nagano station and then take you to the resorts in the am. In the PM, the busses will drop you off right information of the lodge.
