O tym miejscu Silom Soi 4 — Bangkowska Ulica Gejowska

Silom Soi 4 is a 200-metre pedestrianised alley off Silom Road in Bangkok's Bang Rak district. Since the mid-1990s it has been Bangkok's dedicated gay-nightlife street — the densest concentration of queer venues in Southeast Asia and one of the most internationally-recognised gay nightlife streets in the world. The street's development began around 1994 when the Balcony (still operating) opened at the northern entrance. Through the late 1990s and 2000s Silom Soi 4 accumulated its current form: two rows of open-fronted bars with sidewalk seating, roughly 15 dedicated LGBTQ+ venues, and a mostly-Thai clientele mixed with substantial international regulars from ASEAN neighbours (Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines) whose home countries have more restrictive queer environments. The street pedestrianises fully after 20:00 and stays crowded until 02:00. Silom Soi 4's significance to Southeast Asian queer geography is that Bangkok — a country where sexuality laws are relatively liberal but formal queer legal recognition (marriage equality was passed in 2024, effective 2025) came late — became the region's de facto queer weekend destination. The Balcony, Telephone Pub (Bangkok's oldest gay bar, opened 1987 nearby on Silom Soi 4), G.O.D. and Stranger anchor the street. Free, open 24/7 as public street; individual venues charge cover only for specific events. Sala Daeng BTS is a five-minute walk. Peak crowd 22:00-01:30. On the standard Bangkok queer heritage day this is one of the two anchors alongside Silom Soi 2 (a heavier dance-club strip 300 metres west). Combine with a walk to DJ Station (see separate entry) 100 metres west.

Very friendly staff and cheap cocktails which contain alcohol (not evident elsewhere in the street). Really recommended!

I enjoyed with my boyfriend there very well, beers are cheap and the service is good as well, I would recommend this place.

Not a wide beer selection, but you can order glasses, mugs, pitchers, and towers of fresh draught beer at a reasonable price. It has a steady crowd but is never overcrowded so there are seats available, even on the busiest nights. The service is good, and you can order food to be brought from a nearby restaurant if you are hungry.
