Elbschlösschen Refugium

We met at lunchtime in the beer garden, enjoying the beautiful May weather. Near the Elbe River, simply lovely location. However, we weren't impressed with the food. There were noticeably few guests. Self-service at prices more typical of a proper restaurant with table service. Just a heads-up: The busy railway line runs directly above.

Beautiful view of the Elbe Valley, nice little beer garden, very friendly staff, and they serve Augustiner Helles. A good place to stop after a 45 km bike ride.

Located right on the Elbe River in Pirna, you can get something to eat and drink. When the weather is nice, you can sit outside.

Stopped here for a coffee. Great location. The cappuccino (3.90) tasted strangely sweet and sour – either it was instant coffee or there was no milk?

Easter Monday 2026: The photo speaks for itself! I'd love to do it again!

Hospitality is a foreign concept: A mistake by the waitstaff in assigning tables is no problem, but the owner's harsh manner in asking guests to leave is unacceptable. There are countless pleasant dining options in Pirna, but the Elbschlösschen is unfortunately not one of them.

Beautiful place, friendly service, tasty beer. One of the best spots on the Bad Schandau-Dresden bike route.
