Sofitel Budapest Chain Bridge

Perfect! Rooms, view of the Bridge, super professional and friendly staff! Restaurant with its pretty terrace always stormed in the evening.... Paris to Budapest😍❤️

One of the best hotels we have stayed in, and definitely the best hotel in all of Budapest... Highly recommended.

5 star quality at 3 star cost It's very rare in Hungary to find friendly people, even rarer to find a whole group of people to be friendly. That is true at the "Sofitel" in Budapest. The staff is, however, just a slice of the big picture. From the time I checked in, from the time I left, I felt right at home, and very comfortable. It's the type of hotel that makes you feel like you're in a five-star establishment, but you did not pay that much. In general their rates are really reasonable, considering their location (which is right on the Danube in the heart of the city), considering their rooms (which are extremely nice, even the standard rooms), and considering their buffet breakfast (which if I were to pay on the street, it would run me somewhere in the neighborhood of 40 euro). The spa is really nice, with the opportunity to have massages and facials - there is also a very nice swimming pool, a fitness center and there is a sauna room which is well-put together as there are sun chairs to lay on, in case the actual inside of the sauna is too much to bare. The breakfast is one of the best of all hotel breakfasts I've ever had in Europe - second only to the "Pullman Hotel and Casino" in Mandelieu, on the French Riviera. The restaurant is very nice, the staff was more than friendly and courteous, and the food was excellent. I actually had three espressos in a row because they were that outstanding. The rooms were large enough to walk around, with a nice TV, beautiful, large beds with very comfortable comforters and pillows; The bathroom adequate and clean; But the view was probably the highlight. Fortunate to have a view of the chain bridge, it was that much more intoxicating at night than in the day - which was also beautiful to wake up to. If you do have the opportunity to stay at this hotel, my recommendation would be three-fold: Check out the spa, even if it's just to look; Don't skip the breakfast for any reason; and try to get a room with a view of the bridge. If it's a few extra dollars, it's definitely worth it.
