Pécs Pride

Pécs Pride is the only Pride march in Hungary outside Budapest, organised since 2021 by the local NGO Diverse Youth Network. It closes a week-long human-rights festival of talks, workshops and book events. Recent editions were held in September or October: 17 September 2022, 23 September 2023 and 19 October 2024.
In 2025 the police banned it under the new assembly law. It went ahead on 4 October as a court-approved alternative event from Kossuth tér to Tettye, with Telex counting more than 3,000 marchers; prosecutors later dropped the charges. The sixth march, on 12 September 2026, was not banned and ended at Kossuth tér. The 2027 date hadn't been announced when we checked in October 2026.
