SALT is already surprising with its concept: repurposed shipping containers, wooden spaces, a port-like and artistic atmosphere with a real Nordic identity. As soon as you arrive, you feel like you've entered a small, alternative village on the edge of the fjord. The highlight: the sauna with the essence ritual every hour. The moment is incredible: the sauna master diffuses essential oils onto the hot stones and then circulates waves of heat throughout the room. Between the intense heat, natural aromas, and gradual rise of steam, it's a truly immersive sensory experience that transports you. The rituals last about ten minutes and are designed as an immersive "aufguss" experience. And then comes the most memorable part: stepping out of the sauna and diving straight into the fjord to cool off 🥶🌊 Today the water was around 14°C… the thermal shock is striking but so pleasant after the intense heat! An immediate feeling of total awakening and energy. For those who want a gentler transition, there are also the magnificent wooden barrels nearby, perfect for extending this moment of relaxation in an authentic Nordic atmosphere 🔥🪵 The outdoor setting with its large wooden tables and warm atmosphere makes you want to stay a little longer after your session. Perfectly situated on the Oslo waterfront with a view to the Oslo opera house and the Munch museum, sporting a huge sauna and possibility for a (dirty) cooling off in the fjord. Once a fresh and hip place for outdoor wine, beer and snacks, with containers, diy carpentry and rugged furniture, a favourite spot for informal meets and beer bashes, as well as tourists. Now, unfortunately, rather worn down, messy and chaotic half done work all over the place. The “view” is gone, too. Prices are steep and service nonexistent. Don’t dismiss it entirely, let’s just hope they get their act together.
