Condes de Barcelona Hotel

Unfortunately, our experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing and completely out of keeping with both the price and the level advertised. Upon check-in, the manager informed us that he had "upgraded" our room. However, when we entered, we were unpleasantly surprised by its extremely small size—there was literally no room to move around with our luggage. If this was truly considered an upgrade, it seemed more like an attempt to create a false impression. The breakfasts were also very mediocre and clearly not commensurate with the standard and price of the hotel. The most unpleasant thing was that construction work was underway at the hotel during our stay. We arrived tired from our flight and instead of relaxing, we were met with constant noise from early morning until evening. Through the windows, we could see construction equipment, the delivery of materials, and construction debris—the work was clearly underway. However, when we complained to the manager about the noise, they told us there was no construction going on, even though it was visible and audible to literally every guest. A particularly unpleasant experience was the power outage in the room in the evening. For a while, it was impossible to even reach the hotel staff by phone to resolve the issue. Yes, the hotel has a good location, but a good location doesn't compensate for poor service, a lack of honest communication, and a disregard for guests.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. We came from the United States and spent 3 nights in the city before leaving on our cruise. Our room was very nice and was also well appointed. A nice size safe, drawer refrigerator and wash cloths were not expected but very much appreciated! Our view of Passeig de Gracia was a nice surprise, and our location to shopping, restaurants, transportation, etc. could not have been better. Breakfast at the rooftop restaurant was good. Everything you would expect at a European hotel breakfast buffet as well as eggs made to order. Try the eggs Benedict. The best kept secret, however?! The real luxury here is the staff. Our first experience was a perfect example. After 2 flights and just under 24 hours total travel time, our cab pulled up on the street in front of the hotel and started unloading the bags. We were looking around to see where we needed to go and immediately saw a bellman running toward us. Jackson kept us out of the line of traffic and herded the four of us (and too much luggage) safely into the hotel. The Passeig de Gracia is different than city streets in the U.S. in that traffic runs next to the sidewalk on each side of the street, but there is a large walkway down the middle of the street. If you don’t realize this or you aren’t paying attention, it’s quite easy to walk right into the lane of traffic. We stored our luggage since our flight got in to Barcelona quite early, and the gentlemen helping us were wonderful. The gentlemen at the desk were very nice as well, and gave us very good recommendations for local restaurants. We were greeted warmly each time we returned from being out and we were always asked if we had a good day and if we needed anything. The bell staff was always on top of helping us get a cab, directions, anything we needed. It should be noted as well that we do not speak Spanish and had no problems communicating with anyone at the hotel. We enjoyed our first time in Barcelona immensely, and look forward to returning.

STAFF THEFT During a stay in room 660 in July 2021, personal belongings worth over €1,000 (including a valuable watch) disappeared while I was out for an evening. The electronic lock reading indicates entry via card at 11:46 PM, when I was several kilometers away from the hotel, which I was able to prove with time-stamped photos and videos. I immediately filed a complaint with the Barcelona police. The hotel told me they were cooperating with the investigation, but in reality, they did everything they could to obstruct it. No compensation or goodwill gesture was offered. I also noticed an administrative discrepancy between the name on the initial reservation and the one on the final bill, which remains unexplained. I am not making any accusations; I am simply reporting verifiable facts. Everyone can judge for themselves the level of security, transparency, and customer service expected from an establishment of this category.

Very good option

This is the best hotel in the best location. I thank the entire hotel staff from the bottom of my heart for their amazing service, hard work, and attention to every detail. Thank you, dear friends, for making my birthday so special and wonderful, and for helping my wife organize everything. She is very happy and grateful to you for being a true team of professionals. You are so attentive. We returned for the second time – they gave us the cleanest, newest rooms, where everything was perfect. They showed us around and explained everything. The service was very high. Where should we return for a third time? Yes, of course, to you. Your team are professionals. Please always maintain this reputation, because it is very, very important these days. I am confident that you will become the best hotel, and it's time to become a 5-star hotel, because you have everything you need. THANK YOU FOR MAKING PEOPLE HAPPY. The rooms are dark and not very inviting. We were on the second floor and heard the street noise unfiltered in our room. One of the two sinks in the bathroom was unusable; we had to point this out twice. Not worth €350 per night.

I honestly don’t think there is a better location in all of Barcelona! The hotel has some fantastic updates—the elevators are modern, the lobby is cozy, and the brand-new breakfast room is a real highlight. Although the breakfast selection is a bit small, every single detail is clearly well-thought-out and high quality. However, it’s a bit of a mixed bag: while the public areas have been beautifully renovated, the rooms haven’t quite caught up yet. The bathrooms feel dated and the furniture is waiting for its turn to be refreshed. Also, keep in mind that quite a bit of street noise makes its way into the room. That said, as a price-performance choice in this part of the city, it’s still a very solid experience. Great for those who prioritize location!

Fantastic hotel! A super warm welcome and very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is very centrally located, close to many attractions and the metro. The room was newly renovated, large, bright, with a huge balcony, a great bathroom, and left nothing to be desired. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and the ladies were very friendly. The rooftop bar is a highlight. We would love to come back anytime! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
