KUMA is Benidorm's bear bar, holding down the top end of Calle Santa Faz in the Old Town gay village. The name means bear in Japanese, and that tells you what you need to know about the crowd: bears, cubs, otters and everyone who likes their company. The atmosphere is pub rather than club - unpretentious, chatty and welcoming to newcomers, with a terrace that fills up early on warm evenings. It has become one of the most consistently well-rated bars in the village, and during bear-oriented weekends and Pride week in September it is the natural meeting point before heading on to the late venues. Calle Santa Faz is the spine of the gay village, so KUMA works well as a first stop: half the scene walks past its tables at some point in the evening.

I called in for a bottle of beer very expensive, when I was going the owner big Italian man was arguing with a pensioner who was on a mobility scooter, I ask the man on the mobility scooter what was wrong, he said Italian man was going to report him to the police for parking his scooter on pavement next to hotel which is 400 yards away , I said to Italian owner it has nothing to do with you if he parks scooter outside he told me to mind my own business and clear off , I walked to hotel with man on his scooter he told me the Italian boss was always saying rude remarks to him when driving past his bar , please don't use this bar this man hates disabled people
