Lovely little pub great food

Great value, clean spacious room. Excellent steak, friendly welcome and service

The rooms themselves are decent. No Wi-Fi to be found. No dinner after 8:30 PM (kitchen closed). No possibility or willingness to help from the staff. Figure it out yourself, after a long, tiring journey.

Very poor service. I had asked three weeks in advance if the kitchen was open between 20:30 and 21:00. No response. After a long day of traveling, I arrived at my destination just after 20:30. The kitchen was closed, so nothing could be arranged. I was sent to the nearest city. Everything was closed there too. I wasted an hour on the road for nothing. I think they hate foreigners. I have never been treated this badly.

We came here for a meal on Saturday night and had quite a bad experience. We were seated and ordered food quite quickly. Drinks took a little while to arrive, and the starters took nearly half an hour. However when they did arrive they were very tasty. Unfortunately, after this the evening went downhill a bit. We were seated for 2 hours, and only had 2 courses, the main meals took over half an hour to arrive and when they did, the "Crispy beef" was soft and not crispy at all. The two lasagnes we ordered were stone cold on the inside, to the point where when you cut into it, it was like cutting through dense cake, not lasagne. At this point we had been waiting 40 minutes for our mains, but we sent the lasagnes back. When we got them back, the top on both had been burnt to a crisp, and my lasagne was still only luke warm on the inside. As a result I only ate the top half of the lasage. The other one was warmer in the middle, but that too was burnt on the top. We were only offered one other round of drinks in two hours we were there. We were also sat in the conservatory and another table had a steak on a stone, which resulted in so much smoke it looked like there had been something set on fire. It was a very uncomfortable atmosphere to sit and eat it, and when the extraction fans were finally turned on, they did little to remove the bulk of the smoke. At this point the table sat behind us opened their window, which resulted in myself getting really cold as my back was facing the open window. We decided not to stay for Pudding due to the experience as we just wanted to go home at this point. When I went to pay, I was apologised to an told "things have gotten away from us a bit". However, we were offered no refund or gesture of goodwill for the poor experience. We left and sadly won't be returning. To make matters a little worse this meal was for, and on, my Mum's 70th Birthday. To say I was embarrassed and extremely disappointed is an understatement. We don't get to eat out all that often and I had saved to afford to take her out for a nice meal and it was absolutely ruined.

The boot inn was amazing and the staff were lovely, food in the evening was delicious and cooked to perfection.breakfast was yummy.

We Booked Room 5. Absolutely stunning room, Super comfy bed, Such a VIBE. All purples and wooden frames. Good Breakfast, Friendly staff. Very Relaxing Environment. Would definitely come again.

This had been my favourite pub since as long as I can remember. Moved away from the area so hadn’t been back since the refurb. Rallied my friends to travel over for the £10 Sunday Roast deal and what a disappointment. The food was bland, my beef full of fat, gravy like water, run out of sides. Service was with a grunt. Sauces requested came out after I’d finished eating. The place has just lost its charm, and it’s such a shame. Really hope they can revive it to how it was, miss the old Boot😢

Great layout and decoration

Regardless of the £10 price tag for their January and February Roasts, paying more for this would have been worth it. Really good home cooked food done well 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
