Shandon Hotel

DO NOT STAY HERE Filthy room. No drawers to store anything by bed. Smelly. Mould in bathroom and on window sills. Broken bed and very worn mattress worst nights sleep. Very noisey and bed very uncomfortable, not worth the nearly £90 charged amount at all. Total scam. Very disappointed 😞

Nothing fancy but great value for money

Room is small. And many holes in the wall. The staff who checked us in was unfriendly. Had limited parking. The area is quiet and nice

Room was dirty, door handle was broken off so I was briefly trapped inside, staff were mildly hostile. It is pretty close to the station though.

walk in and it stank. like stank. windows don’t shut or lock. heater doesn’t work. bathroom door doesn’t shut…clear line of sight of the toilet when the door is “closed”. bed springy but felt like sleeping on a spinal recovery position board. sheets. pillows. stanky. like feet. close to the train station though so that’s a plus. wouldn’t stay more than one night. receptionist always awake?? nice person though

The staff were very attentive, polite, and helpful; the service was impeccable.

Checked in for about an hour until the rest of my family arrived and didn't do anything but place our bags down and sit on the end of the bed. Once the rest of the family arrived we decided the room was way too dirty and not safe to stay in. The Shandon Hotel staff put on a poor performance and would not work with us. Stayed for 1 hour, paid full cost. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Booking.com automatically inserted a date for the following weekend when I called up they said it was non refundable but then said I could change the date I then get a WhatsApp in capital letters saying manager said no they even had availablility for me to change and out of courtesy or good will could have changed the date for me, instead they asked if I'm gujrati as well, not sure what my race has to do with the booking, I wouldnt have left this review but due to the customer service I give this place a one star!!!!

DO NOT STAY HERE. This was a terrible hotel. The photos of it were clearly doctored as it didn't remotely reflect the actual room. The room was super small, smelled like smoke, it was right on the street so it was very loud, and their was leftover stuff in the toilet. It was so bad that we couldn't stay there. We left and found a much better hotel. Avoid if you can.

We had visited for Rugby World Cup this weekend. We were expecting to park but no spaces were available. The room was shabby, limescale on taps and shower, mould on shower curtain. After trying to sleep in the worst bed ever we actually felt like we had played in the front Row for England … this hotel is the worst I have ever stayed in and what a waste of money it’s a dump.. we had no sleep due to cheap bed with springs all over the place, lumpy cheap pillows, women sat screaming and shouting all night at front of hotel. Damp smelly bedding and towels. We had a so called delux room ? It was so bad we left in the early hours rather than remain in a bed that had the posture support of a mediaeval rack.. we left the cast of one flew over the cuckoos nest to there moonlight howling. I would like the owners to contact me and arrange for a refund let’s see if this happens ? I will update you with any news ?
