I arrived in Newcastle very late at night with low battery and nowhere comfortable to stay. Even before I rang the bell, the receptionist had already noticed me on the cameras and welcomed me in. Despite it being very early, he kindly allowed me to check in, offered tea/coffee, and showed me to the common area. His attentiveness and kindness honestly made a stressful situation feel safe and warm. Special thanks to the gentleman with the orange beard 🧡👏 truly outstanding hospitality. This level of care is rare. Highly recommended!

I vacationed in England November of 2024 and almost all of my money was either stolen, tied up in America or scammed for my hotel room. I was supposed to meeting an old buddy from me training him in Stuttgart 25 years ago. He led me on about staying wit I'm while I was there but he ghosted me . The staff understood my dilemma and helped me. they even lowered the price for me because I was mid-week. I an a man from {Pittsburg PA USA and New Castle reminded me of home

Best location in the city. You can literally see everything with 5 to 20 min walk from the hostel. Very friendly staff who are happy to help with any issues you might have. They even offered to keep my bags after checking out while I go explore the city a bit more. They go above and beyond to make sure you're having the best time there. Clean bathrooms and showers available as well.

What a great find! Albatross Hostel offers amazing facilities for the price. The room was great, but the staff were even better – the girl at reception Reecs and her assistant were so helpful and friendly. The free 24-hour bag storage was a lifesaver. I strongly recommend this place to anyone visiting Newcastle!

Friendly and helpful staff. The bed is very comfortable. The bathroom is tidy and the accommodation is a 5 minute walk from the attractions.

In central. Internet no Good just Only in Kitchen. Kitchen always full because love there some Home les Afrikán person. You can’t relax in Kitchen. But Nice place…

This was the second time I've been here, as I had a good reason to return :) It is the best hostel in Newcastle after all. Lovely staff, nice amenities, clean rooms, comfy beds. And all that at a great price. I guess if I had to complain about anything, I'd pick the toilet paper, which is easily remedied by bringing my own :P Nothing to break a sweat about. The lounge is also really comfortable, the communal kitchen is roomy has everything one might need for cooking or storage. The other guests were considerate and eclectic, which is what you'd want from a hostel if you're there to meet people. I'm a little oddball myself and still felt like I fit right in. The hostel is also perfectly situated in the city center, with everything you'd want in a walkable distance. Like, everything is less than 5 minutes away. I'm not exaggerating! Anyway, I could go on, but just go and experience it for yourself. I had a wonderful time and felt well looked-after, I'll be definitely recommending this and coming back as soon as I can!
