Beautiful, well-priced property with everything you need in the heart of downtown Halifax Liked · Beautiful place, very stylish decor, and the most comfortable mattress and pillows ever. Well-stocked kitchenette, beautiful glass shower, cozy couch with TV, and a counter-height table overlooking the window outside. Nice touches like earplugs, dish soap, and everything kitchen-wise you would need. Gorgeous linens, I had the best sleep in years here. Great value for your money with the decor, stocked kitchenette, and totally self-contained unit within walking distance to everything DT. Disliked · This property is STAFF-LESS, you need to self-check in at the front door. However, my entry codes WOULD NOT work. Also, another guest was having check-in problems, and I helped him get in successfully. I got a very fast text back from the property support, but the check-in tablets at the entrance were blank screens/not working, so I checked in again on my phone to resend my entry codes, as instructed by remote staff. I got it figured out, and got help fast, but it was frustrating with no staff on the property to assist with check-in issues. Be aware of possible tech issues during the check-in process, as the tablets to enter may be "updating at unforeseen times," according to support staff. Stylish property, nice room in mid-winter, nonetheless.

This is what you're getting: a perfect location, a large room with amenities for a competitive price, but you're likely to have to put up with the irritations of a youth hostel with no staff around. As for many other reviewers, self-checkin remains frustrating. Early Spring saved us the outdoor terrace partying noise, but our room neighbours were loud and rambunctious until late. With no staff on premises, we had no choice but to use ear plugs for the night.

Booked a stay at Cameo Suites in Halifax through Expedia and had a serious issue with room access and safety. When we arrived around 6 PM and entered our assigned room using the provided door code, we found another group already inside with their belongings. They showed us they also had a booking and a working code for the same room. We contacted the property immediately. The manager explained that door codes are sent out in advance and confirmed that codes are NOT CHANGED between guests, meaning someone arriving on the wrong date may still be able to access a room. Regardless of how the booking mix-up occurred, the system allowed two unrelated parties to enter the same room. That is a significant privacy and security concern. My family works in the hospitality business and owns multiple properties, not changing codes between guests is unacceptable. I will also note that there is another review in the last 6 months that states the same thing happened to them. We did receive a refund, but the explanation did not address the underlying issue with access control. I would strongly recommend the property review how room access is managed, as this is not what most guests would expect from a hotel or accommodation.

I don’t want to give you not even a single star we have the booking for 3 nights stay when we reached there they didn’t allow us to check in we call them lots if time but they didn’t answer the call then we book the another hotel on same time i will recommend you don’t waste time and money for this property to book it SERVICE IS ZERO

I will agree that check in is confusing. They did two $300 holds , not sure why. We stayed 2 nights in 601 two level suite that faced Barrington. We did this to ensure we weren't on the noisy side that faces argyl street. It is still noisy but nowhere near the noise level on Argyl. However, 601 bedroom is right beside the machine room that is on the roof, and it is noisy. Constant hum all the time. So if you are a light sleeper, it will bother you. Apt was well appointed, clean and had all necessary items. Wish there was a full couch not just a love seat. Or at least a chair. Also some coat hooks downstairs. Why only 2 coffee pods for free when there are 2 of us staying for 2 nights. You can buy more from vending machine. Sad Probably would not book again.

I had a wonderful stay at Cameo Hotel in downtown Halifax and would definitely rate it 5 stars overall. The rooms are spacious, well-designed, and come with all the essential facilities you could need for a comfortable stay. One of the best parts was the full kitchen setup—it includes plenty of utensils, glasses, and even a coffee machine, which made it feel like a home away from home. Cleanliness is top-notch. Everything was well-maintained, neat, and tidy, which really adds to the overall comfort and experience. The ambiance of the room felt cozy and welcoming, making it easy to relax after a long day. Regarding noise, I personally felt that even with the windows closed, there was some outside sound that slightly affected my sleep. However, this might vary from person to person, and some guests may not find it an issue at all. The only downside during my stay was the bathing area, as the glass door seemed to be broken, which made it a bit inconvenient. I hope the management addresses this soon. Apart from that, everything else was excellent. A comfortable, clean, and cozy place right in downtown—definitely a great choice for your stay!

We stayed at the hotel at the end of February. The suite itself is great, the parking is kinda annoying as you have to park in third-party lots if you're driving but on the other hand, it is great for walking. The only downside is your experience will depend on people that booked the suites on the same nights as you. The soundproofing wasn't great and we could hear the party noises on 4th floor till the early morning, even tho we stayed on the 3rd floor, and our unit wasn't right underneath that noisy unit. So if you are a light sleeper, pick a safer one for your night; otherwise, this is still a great place for downtown stays.

I would like to share my experience regarding my recent reservation. After staying at the hotel, I began experiencing severe itching all over my body. Two days later, I consulted a doctor and showed him the symptoms on my body. He advised that the reaction could be due to bed bugs or another insect bite. This experience was very upsetting and uncomfortable. Because of this, I am extremely disappointed and would not consider staying at this hotel again.

Excellent security and felt secure in our room at all times. The room itself was tidy yet clearly only cleaned and not maintained by any regular maintenance. The room had extensive water damage, broken sections of the heater in the bathroom, the shower door would not close causing the bathroom floor to fill with water. The room was heated to 26° and we struggled to cool it down to 20° over our two night stay even by turning the heat off and using both fans to circulate the air. The vending machine was half empty and the ice machine room door was closed up, the heat in the room was to the point the chocolate bars were soft and melting. I would recommend this place solely due to it's reasonable price, Laundry available, quietness and the entrance security. system.

This is an incredible little hotel. The room we had was large, with two good bedrooms and a comfortable living room/kitchen. The kitchen was complete: over/stove, microwave, dishwasher, kettle, and kpod machine along with good cook ware and dinner ware. We faced onto Barrington and the noise was the typical noises of a busy downtown. We spent seven nights and were only disrupted at all on Saturday night (unsurprisingly). It is close to many restaurants and bars, some excellent shopping, and the many museums and other sights are all within easy walking distance. We will stay there again for sure.
