We were visiting from Ontario and have heard great things about GIO so decided to check it out. We were not disappointed! The food was delicious, probably the best meal we had on our trip, and the service was amazing. We could tell everyone was passionate about their job and this restaurant. We will definitely come back next time we are in town:)

I’ve been here multiple times and every experience somehow gets better than the last. The staff go above and beyond to make my night the best it could be. Some standout servers are Molly, Olivia, and Terri. Amazing food, drinks, and vibes! My favourite place to experience new meals, desserts, and wine. On your way out, be sure to stop into Level Bar and see if Marcus is working. Ask for the Marcus cocktail, it’s to die for!

Service was terrible Food not that good. Waitress never came back to ask for any 2nd drinks . And didn't ask us of our food. Would not recommend it it. Very disappointed

I came here full of anticipation after hearing good things. The server quickly came by with a trainee and said the trainee would be following along. An order for wine was placed and soon thereafter our dinner orders placed. Soon thereafter the salads were rushed out with wine glasses barely consumed and the server says to the trainee that he would show him how to get another order of wine. We continued with the salads and the server returns with the wine barely touched and again asks if we need more wine which we refused. At that point, the server can be seen to the trainee that we are difficult. We are then ignored until the entrees arrive COLD. The server with the trainee returns after we have had enough of the cold entrees, a long time after the presentation, and again can be seen saying to the trainee this is how you push wine. No mention of the food. We finally get to sy to the server the food was cold. The server says he will talk to the chief and without the trainee this time say halibut and scallops are supposed to be served luke warm. We ordered hot halibut and hot scallops not sushi. The server never returns with the check and sends someone else who then argues with us. The whole bill was about $178 Way overpriced for the quality, and way over priced for lousy service. Don't argue with the patron but try to make things right Nothing off the bill, just an argument. I'll never return.

Gio is located in the Prince George Hotel. This restaurant is the only redeeming quality for the hotel. Anywaysss, happy hour had this amazing herbal drink. You will be served and treated very well here. It is a very classy, but chill establishment. We didn't order food.

Excellent meal, atmosphere and experience. Our host was very attentive and personable; timing our meals and drinks perfectly. Food was superb and lots of it! Fresh oysters, local seafood, many locally sourced ingredients. More reasonably priced than many other establishments and with better food. We're very particular about dining out, especially in this economy and this place just made the top of the list for Halifax. Dining room was shockingly empty for a restaurant so close to the harbour. Do yourself a favour and try this spot!

Was not overly impressed with the food, especially if this is a higher end resturant? Maybe I have budget taste ?

Gio hosted our group of 40 as a private event. The service and the quality of the food was phenomenal. Thank you so much for giving us a great evening!

This was our first disappointing experience at Gio/Level Bar. We have dined here numerous times and always enjoyed the food and service, but unfortunately, this visit fell short of our expectations. We ordered seven dishes in total, including our desserts. One of our mains was a striploin steak ordered medium-well. When it arrived, it was incredibly dry. We mentioned this to our server, who apologized, took the plate away, and assured us it would be taken off the bill. Our original server also came over to apologize. When it was time to order dessert, we asked for the strawberry chocolate cake, and she suggested we order two, stating the second one would be on the house to make up for the steak. However, when the bill arrived, the uneaten steak was still on it, and only the second dessert was comped. We asked to speak to our original server to clear up the confusion, but the second server went to check and came back saying she had already "clocked out." We would have much rather paid for both desserts than be charged for a steak we sent back and didn’t even get to eat. A very disappointing end to what is usually a great experience

Went there for a friends graduation dinner, we used their private dining room. Thé food was spectacular and everything came out perfect. We had an amazing time and all the food portions were good too. Friendly staff and overall one of the best experiences I have had in Halifax!
