Fort Garry Hotel

Beautiful old building on the outside, but you feel its age on the inside.

Wish the room was a little more darker. The light peering through the curtains was a little distracting. But overall throughly enjoyed the performance

I can’t say enough about how amazing the staff are, truly the best!! I can be tough to please and these folks did an absolutely fantastic job responding to my various needs!!! Beautiful building, amazing dining and so close to the Forks, a great place to check out. We would definitely recommend staying at the Fort Gary!

Lovely old hotel, well taken care of, and full of charm. Very comfortable bed. Staff was friendly and helpful. Restaurant served high quality tasty food at ok prices. Thought it odd that there was no chest of drawers or fridge in the bedroom, however, they were able to provide a fridge later in the day I inquired about one. The bathroom has tub rather than modernized shower stall. The plumbing for the hot water to shower knocked quite loudly, especially when it was diverted to the high pressure wand. Same as neighbouring room(s), since I knew when other showers were running. OK location, just west of the train station, but not a lot of restaurants or stores in immediate vicinity. Easy walking distance to The Forks and RBC Convention Centre. Lack of free access to a pool &/Or hot tub is a shortcoming. Would give 4.5 overall rating, if possible.

Visited the Oval Room Brasserie, had the French onion soup and a drink; beautiful atmosphere, elegant lounge

Great for business

Be careful when you book. Some of the rooms at this otherwise beautiful hotel are very disappointing. Some have outdated bathrooms in need of love, and some have no light because the window faces four walls and windows from other rooms, which means you have to close the blind at all times. Also, some rooms have no desk to work.
