Beautiful park with lots of different features, lush greenery and nice water features. Lots of different trails to walk.
On a sunny day in the 50s numerous people were running, walking with or without dogs in Louisville’s biggest and most scenic park in the popular Highlands neighborhood. Although spring has not peaked yet it was gratifying to drive through this beautiful park in anticipation of spring and warmer weather.
Probably the last of the warm fall days.. we passed many walkers and bikers on the trails. I love being able to see through the trees now that most of the leaves are down.
It was nice to see folks walking and enjoying the 60 degree weather here at one of Louisville’s largest and most popular parks. In a couple of weeks or so it should be much prettier with springtime blooms. It was nice to get some sunshine and fresh air after a dreary winter.
Not widely known is the park was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, who designed Central Park in New York City and many others. Cherokee is fabulous, like the others, and has many small hills that are excellent for sledding on the occasions it snow in Louisville. The bottom of a sled run is the perfect time to kiss your girlfriend who was holding on for dear life on the back.
Walking with my wife when a guy in a mask attacked use. Sprayed us with mace and threatened to kill us. I acted like I had a gun, and he took off. Police arrived 2 hours later.
A surprisingly nice hike around on a nice day. Great for kids and grown ups with a lot of shade to hide the sun. It was busy
Great place to relax and enjoy the scenery if the trees and peace and quiet.Nine hole golf course also enjoyable to play and have a good time.
A big place and nice for a surprisingly warm winter day. Lot of room to hike around and watch the people passing by
Its a big park. Not as nice as Central Park but still pretty and not so crowded. In a nice section of town.
Perfect
Best park in Louisville imo. Miss Frisbee Field being full of people like it was back in the 90s though.
Would recommend highly as a great place to walk, run, or bike. This park is very well kept and clean and provides a wonderful, beautiful, and peaceful place for individuals, couples, and groups alike. It is centered on the "scenic loop" which has both a walking path and a ONE-WAY driving path. There are frequent parking spaces and exits out of the loop. There are also trails through the center of the park (paved and dirt), as the scenic loop goes around the parameter. There are two main places to stop along the loop: 1) Has a playground, spray ground, an area to eat with tables, and grills to cook stuff. 2) There is a large pavilion at rhe crest of a hill with a beautiful view of the surrounding landscape. All parking is free along the loop.
Quiet spot for a hike or meditation. Beautiful trails.
Please keep this Park clean and nice looking, it's the best Park in Louisville.
Just a nice peaceful part of the city to get away. Trails are great even after some of the washouts.
It’s a very nice park with trails and and area to fish
We love the park! Great for our weekly hikes. Love seeing the deer, too.
